I'm posting this because 500words gave a shout-out in her blog that anyone interested in seeing the comment could click though to here, so in the (probably unlikely) event that someone does, they have something to see.
BTW I am fine with the comment being removed; the topic was beginning to veer off-course and the blog owner has every right to do so. I did ask 500words to remove the accusatory (and to my thinking, anti-semitic) post by Alaska Progressive that prompted the comment. I appreciate 500words mention of the removal and him/her directing people here if they're interested.
So here's the deleted comment (in response to Alaska Progressive's screed about the supposed "brutal occupation" by Israel over Arabs living in Judea and Samaria/West Bank/disputed territories and her challenge to me to show racism in the 'progressive' movement):
"Alaska progressive,
You are a perfect example of what I am talking about. You apparently don't realize or don't care that 'Palestinian' Arabs live under the authority of the Palestinian Authority, not Israel. They vote in P.A. elections (when they occur, the last one is nearly three years overdue), receive services (water, electric, sewage) from the P.A., attend P.A. schools which promote child sacrifice and genocide, listen to state TV and radio shows (take a look at www.memri.org, www.palwatch.org, etc.-the head P.A. religious leader said this morning that genocide against Jews is a "religious duty"), etc. The only influence Israel has is the agreed-upon ability to enter certain areas in specific instances (immediate pursuit of terrorists, for example).
Do you know what areas A, B, and C are - without looking it up? Do you know what the San Remo conference is? Are you aware of the provisions of the Oslo accords? Unless you do - and I'm sure that you do not - you haven't the knowledge or understanding to make ANY claims about the Arab/Israeli conflict, and especially not to falsely and unjustly claim "brutality". In my mind and the minds of most normal people, "brutality" is the slaughter of five family members in their beds, as occurred recently, not a fence at a de facto border crossing through which all people coming from the disputed territories, including Israelis, must pass.
In terms of racism and genocide, I have sat in an office lobby and heard "progressives" calling for my death and the death of my small children. Of course, they were like you and had no concept that "intifada" means in reality attacks on civilians - murdering children hiding under their beds, mothers on buses, elderly Holocaust survivors at a Passover seder - all of which occurred during the last "intifada", which killed over 1,000 innocent people and was responsible for the construction of the security fence which your fellow "progressives" so love to complain about.
No, I do not appreciate hearing Occupy Boston "progressives" calling for my murder, or the murder of my family, neighbors, or friends. But hey, it's trendy and fun, and no harm comes to YOU for inciting for the death of nameless and faceless others. Well, this "other" has a name, and the face of my child is right in the photo.
I'm sure it will surprise you that I agree with most 'progressive' causes. But so long as so-called 'progressives' continue their quest to remove me from the home where my ancestors have lived for generations and support those whose 'duty' is to commit genocide against an entire people, the movement will be tainted with the stigma of racism and anti-semitism it is known for. "
A few hours ago I read a comment by AlaskaProgressive claiming that Iran's president had gotten a 'bad rap' and that Elie Weisel was "bloodthirsty", so I don't imagine that she will be doing any soul-searching soon.
Thanks for reading!
