A disclaimer first: I do not work for Open Salon. I am not part of the Open Salon technical support. I do not have access to the Open Salon server(s) nor can I access any of the coding for the site. I receive no remuneration from the site owners in any manner whatsoever. My interest is site problems is basically curiosity. When someone mentions a problem or when someone sends a note about a problem, I try to replicate it - especially when three people are experiencing the same difficulty. If I can suggestion a work-around to solve the problem, even temporarily, I post the suggestion. There is a likelihood that someone else is having (or will have) a similar problem and the suggestion is a possible option to try.
Some people have been having difficulties placing a photo within a post submission. These people are not novice users on Open Salon and have uploaded pictures to articles previously. The steps to do so are familiar to them. The problem is that the image (or some form of the image) appears in the "Upload Media" window itself and does not appear in the article.
Merely by repeating the upload media process numerous times, it was possible to replicate the problem. One way to work around this problem is as follows:
* copy all the title, tag and text data off the new post page and save it. If you do not do so, those data will vanish.
* close the new post page.
* log out of Open Salon.
* close whatever browser is being used.
* re-open the browser.
* log into the Open Salon account again.
* go through the procedure to post the image again.
This procedure seems to work. "Thank you" to the three people who went through the steps and who were able to place images on their Open Salon submissions. Trying to understand why this avoids the problem would be just speculation at this point. Perhaps there are other ways to overcome the problem. Please share other solutions - this method to work around the difficulty may be very temporary.

Firefox has never failed to work, and I haven't used Safari in a while.
Another option you may want to note is saving to site like Photobucket or Flickr and going to html route (since they provide the code for these novice users.)
Anyway...thanks for lookin' our for the kids.
HUGGGGGGGGGG
I prefer Tumblr, where I have a private page with a vast image collection. I actually load in my entire post on that Tumblr (pics and words) then just paste HTML into OS, so I don't have to mess with formatting on this site, as it was a pain in the ass to get the words where I needed them to be. I'm kind of anal about my layout. oof.
Do you have any idea why target links don't work on OS?
The basic code: target="_blank">
Since it doesn't, I don't add links on this site because I don't like sending my readers completely away. I want a new window to pop up. Almost every site on the web allows target/blank linkage. What gives here?
Charlie, thank you too for stopping by and for the suggestions. The target links have not worked in all the time that I have been on the Open Salon site. I tried to ask about it in my early days here but I never received a reply. In fact, because I never have received a single reply from the Open Salon technical support people, it has been a motivation to try to problem solve myself and find some ways to work around site issues. The re-direct away from the site is something that I cannot resolve. I would need access to the administrative code structure, as you probably might have guessed.
I too would prefer a new window for a link. It seems that it would not be in Open Salon's best interests to send traffic away.
Time for change!
