Bio
Where do you start with something like this. I'm your typical white male. I'm married, for the third time. I have 9 kids and 4 grandchildren. Currently I'm an OTR truck driver. I've been doing it for the past year and a half, but I've had several careers. This one is just the latest. In the past I've tried selling cars. That didn't last long. I should say it didn't take me very long to figure out that I'm to honest to sell cars. I've spent lots of years in the restaurant business. Most of that was in the pizza business either as a manager for other or for myself. I also spent 8 years in the Air Force working in ER's and flying Aeromedical Evacuation. I have to say, the biggest mistake I've ever made was getting out. Anything else you want to know, just ask. I'll tell you.

Obama, support him, or leave the country

Rate: 1 Flag

While I have to say that I didn't vote for Senator, I mean President Elect, Obama he will have my full support. I think he is very smart and very articulate, I just think most of his politics are off base.

So why will I support a man who I don't care for? It's simple, we have a system in place that is fair and honest. The people pick who will lead us. How many countries pick their leader at the end of a weapon? We are the greatest nation on earth. We have rules and laws Our weapons come with hanging chads not bullets.

I don't care if you like the outcome of a election or not. We need to support our choice. That is the one thing that I don't like about President Bush's time in office. After 8 years there are people still saying “he's not my President”. That kind of statement really gets to me. Do we need to go back and listen to President Kennedy's Ask Not speech?

Have you ever said “he's not my President”? Will you tell me why? Has any of your friends ever said anything like that, if so what did you do? I know what I'll do. I'll shut them down. To disrespect our President, to me, is disrespecting our country.

I'm going to give President Obama 100% of my support. I will work to get him defeated in 4 years, but if I can't I will continue to support him. I will support his replacement even if I don't like who ever that is. That is what we do as Americans. We take our disagreements to the voting booth, not the streets.

I want to challenge everyone to get  behind President Obama. We are having hard times as a country right now. We will pull through and things will get better again. Have you noticed that the markets all run on emotion? If everybody says things are bad, they will be bad. The other side of the coin is also true. If we just follow President Obama's yes we can, and believe in our country and our leaders the stock market will follow.  We will again be the place where the rest of the world wants to live.

If he should defecate on the Constitution the way Bush did, then I think people should be free to refuse their support.
I think a fair shot is all any President-Elect deserves.
G. W. Bush had his.

Obama wouldn't endorse a 'Love him or leave the country" stance. He's a good listener.
But with all bumpy roads, to get off of it you have to travel down more bumps to the exit. He's got a lot of work to do.

I don't think he can do it. He'll wig out and Biden will take over.
To disrespect a president is not to disrespect our country. A president is a person elected to serve us, not to be worshipped. And if the president and his policies turn out to be wrong headed like Bush's were then we throw them out. They get fired. There is your respect.
Following blindly is not good. Leaders needs to be questioned and held accountable. It is a shame that we did not do that with President Bush.
Only sheep worry about disrespecting a president or our country. My country right or wrong. When right to support it. When wrong to make it right.
Look, I did not say that we follow him over a cliff. But he is our leader for the next four years, like it or not.

If we just say fuck him and start out working against him, he will never have his chance to prove he is right. We will defeat him and his actions from the start. Like him or not, he deserves a chance.

While I do not expect him to make the country better and I do expect to oppose him in the next election his success or failure will not be caused by my actions or inactions.

Your leader, be it the your new foreman, plant manager, or the President of the United States, deserves your support. They need a chance to sink or swim on their own.

When your last boss came in did you do your best to get them fired? I hope you did what you were asked to do and tried to make the project work. There is no difference here.
