Where do you start with something like this. I'm your typical white male. I'm married, for the third time. I have 9 kids and 4 grandchildren. Currently I'm an OTR truck driver. I've been doing it for the past year and a half, but I've had several careers. This one is just the latest. In the past I've tried selling cars. That didn't last long. I should say it didn't take me very long to figure out that I'm to honest to sell cars. I've spent lots of years in the restaurant business. Most of that was in the pizza business either as a manager for other or for myself. I also spent 8 years in the Air Force working in ER's and flying Aeromedical Evacuation. I have to say, the biggest mistake I've ever made was getting out. Anything else you want to know, just ask. I'll tell you.

Having a really bad day

Have you ever gone back to see if you did something that you do dozens of times everyday?  Do you ever go back and check the oven, and yes it's off? Have you checked to see if you set the alarm clock, and sure enough you did?

 

Have you ever said I know I did it and resisted the urge to go back and check?  Well for one truck driver in Newburgh, NY today, maybe it would have been a good idea to check to see if he pulled that bright yellow knob labeled PARKING BRAKE.

 

He is having a really bad day.

The luck guy is the one who was sleeping in this truck. As this one went past, took off the side of his sleeper. Talk about a rude awaking.

So... he was parked and then slid into the river?? Bummer!

I have a millions trucker questions if you ever want to do a Q and A . The industry fascinates me!

It wasn't a river. It was one of the catch ponds for run off from the parking lots. You would be surprised at how much fuel, oil and other junk gets washed off the parking lots when it rains so they have to catch it.

I'm sure the driver was testing the product with a Sleeper Leaper to make sure the product was UP to standards. Only a woman could cause someone to forget something as simple as putting the brakes on.

Musta been a bad day for truckers all around, because the same day you posted this, my hubby saw a truck round a corner to sharply and take a bunch off the front of a formerly nice Honda!

As the sister of a one-time trucker, I give you my deepest understanding.

As the driver of a car, I gotta tell you, those big things you pilot scare the bejeepers out of me.
