Where do you start with something like this. I'm your typical white male. I'm married, for the third time. I have 9 kids and 4 grandchildren. Currently I'm an OTR truck driver. I've been doing it for the past year and a half, but I've had several careers. This one is just the latest. In the past I've tried selling cars. That didn't last long. I should say it didn't take me very long to figure out that I'm to honest to sell cars. I've spent lots of years in the restaurant business. Most of that was in the pizza business either as a manager for other or for myself. I also spent 8 years in the Air Force working in ER's and flying Aeromedical Evacuation. I have to say, the biggest mistake I've ever made was getting out. Anything else you want to know, just ask. I'll tell you.

My son and I saw one at a car lot where we are waiting on our next load. We were going to pull the truck in next to it and take a picture.

Maybe we will do that today.

Smart cars are the next gen GEO Metro with a MPG of 33 town and 41 Hwy. They even have a 3 cylinder engine just like the Geo Metro. There's nothing smart about buying this old technology repackaged as new and "smart".

33/41 is that all the mileage they get?

Before I figured out I was to honest to be a car salesman I worked for a Pontiac dealer. The new GTO was getting over 30 on the highway and I'm not saying how I know, but it will do at least 125 in a very short distance. So why would you drive a death trap like that for 33/41 unless you lived in some cluster f'd place to drive and park like NYC?

BTW, at my size I owned a Geo Metro. It was a great car. Just doesn't float very well.

Hummers are for Marines. Big Rigs are for everybody.

Want a challenge for today, name one thing that you have or use other than the air you breath that did not ride on the back of a big rig?

As for fuel, That is my biggest expense. I spend $500+ everytime I buy fuel which is 2-3 times a week. I conserve the best I can. I get 7.5 MPG out of this truck.

Really? I do have to say that the two smallest cars that I owned, a Chevy Vega and a Geo Metro were the most comfortable of them all.

God help us all if these are to be really the future smart cars available to drive. Besides my wife and myself, can I fit my 2 grown up kids in as well?

I don't know if I like the new smart cars. Besides being tiny- and there's nothing wrong with that (I'm no size queen), its just that space is so limited. I went to a local dealership who had used cars for sale and looked at the interior of a smart car. I noticed how little space there is for groceries.

I don't think people will love to drive these kind of cars. Haha. I mean even if these cars have the same parts as the original cars like the engine, brakes and Serpentine Belts it doesn't necessarily mean that people will buy them.
