On the Salon Wires page right now is an article titled "Conn. man confronts motorist, is fatally shot".  Seems like a road rage situation, where driver A yells at driver B and driver B shoots him, right?

Ah, but no.  What actually happened was, driver A followed driver B to his house, then left and came back with friend C, who wore a mask as he walked up to driver A's house.  

Friend C deserved to get shot, in my opinion.  There isn't anything in the article to explain C's actions, but I bet he wasn't just going there (wearing a mask) to have a little chat with A.
