String Theory

Rate: 20 Flag

pipework

Like those screen savers of pipes connecting
Popping in and out, here and there,
Purple, green, gold, scarlet,
No place and every place at once
My heart seeks yours, finds the thread
Cats cradle twisting, holding hands, intertwined

 1199

I lost it to you, you were persistent,
Always showing up, me wondering
What on earth did you want, why me
Until finally I saw myself in your eyes
The object of your desire and found it
Stepping off the cliff into another universe

 359320_med

Stardust combines, recombined
Nothing is ever lost, just reborn
Incarnation, reincarnation, carnal
Carbon, redeemed by love again
When those strings tear my heart
Then I will follow its thread home

I owe the germination of this poem to Zanelle, who wrote about the dust of couples combining in other universes.
cc - "I lost it to you, you were persistent,
Always showing up, me wondering
What on earth did you want, why me"

Pitch perfect! Nice.

I wrote something you might find cute awhile back -

http://open.salon.com/blog/toritto/2011/08/07/geek_love_a_poem

Drop by it when you're in the mood.

:-)
That I will! Thanks, Toritto!
CC, next time I see a show on Nova ScienceNOW about string theory I'll be thinking of this special post of yours!
Oh so very nicely done, enjoyed this very much.
Dear Des, Thanksabunch! I'm flattered!
Dear Rita, thank you for stopping by. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
men come up easily with dreams of other universes...

I lost it to you, you were persistent,
Always showing up, me wondering
What on earth did you want, why me..who better?.

Until finally I saw myself in your eyes
The object of your desire and found it
Stepping off the cliff into another universe

yes that is where the damn action is, apparently..arg.. : )
Dear James, I'm laughing, I don't know what to say! May you find your perfect universe and have your heart's desire!
This reminded me of a persistent dream O have . . .

I use to wire color-coded computer board forms.
Honest
Maybe that's why I am tempted to ditch my gadget.

The old day wiring was tedious. Wires were pretty.
You solder
The wires:
`
red/blue
green/slate
black/white
yellow/red
and on\on
The wires were tiny and had to be tied with a wax-string.
I had a brief job with the Tote Company. It's too global?
The American Totalizator Co. did race-track odd-boards.
It was an interesting job. My dream isn't a red war puddle.
Thanks
I mean it.
I'll go buy?
I best not.
No beers.

What a beautiful poem. I just tried to write one about the solar flares, is cool to mix science and love.
rated with love
A good read about the anticipation in a new friendship. Thanks.
Dear Art, I like soldering things. This reminds me of Zanelle and how she puts things together. Color, materials, light!
Dear RP, just last night on the news I saw the sun is having tornadoes that are 20 miles tall!!!!!
Dear Phyllis, this happened to another me in a dimension 29 years ago! Thank you for your comment!
Dear mhold, PMd you back. Thanks for visiting!
Stardust combines, recombined
Nothing is ever lost, just reborn

Just like Zanelle's blog.
So well done and always nice to see writers working together.
HUGGGGGGG
"Nothing is ever lost, just reborn
.....................................................
.........., redeemed by love again"

That really hit home with me. A beautiful poem, darling cc!
Wonderful words and art.
Makes me think of an old lytic, "Zing went the strings of my heart."
Nice words and ... strings.
Lovely to be in the same head space.

"Stardust combines, recombined
Nothing is ever lost, just reborn"

Carl Sagan said we are all stardust. I like that.
Thank you for this wonderful poem.
I LOVED this post, ccdarling! The pics remind me of when I went to art school as a child there was this geeky kid who painted just like that. He grew up to be a famous mathematician. Have you ever heard this song? Stringsong by Adron. It is so beautiful just like string theory. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkD5Og-IJmw
Dear Jonathan - thank you. I'm glad this held some meaning for you.
Dear Linda, thanks so much. Zanelle inspired me!!!
We're all stardust, o yeah!!
r
Dear FusunA, how sweet of you to say so, thank you!
Dear Sheila, I'm glad you like my poem of course I can't take credit for the art. If I were really smart and computer savvy, I would insert a little screen that shows the pipes building and changing in real time. Think of all the work a programmer spent writing the code for this screensaver - something we take for granted!
Dear Lea, Judy Garland (I think)! Or was it "clang, clang, clang"?! :-) thank you for commenting!
Dear Zanelle, I'm honored to be in YOUR headspace! Carl Sagan was such a neat guy - I like the stardust part. Makes me feel sparkly!
Dear Miguela, I'm so glad you liked it, but as I explained above I can't take credit for the artwork. A programmer created code to make this beautiful screensaver that we users take for granted. I will check out the song, thanks for the reference!!!!!
Dear Hilarad, thank you for reading and rating. As I wrote above to Zanelle, I really like the idea of being stardust. Maybe someday I'll be floating out in space like the Starchild in 2001 A Space Odyssey. That would be so cool!
What a leap in virtual romance. Great title too, there is something so romantic about String Theory. Beautifully written. R
Dear Thoth, if mystery is romantic, then I would guess you're right. I don't understand the math. But the pictures I can grok. Thank you for visiting and commenting!
Very good. Ass Worthy!
Dear Scanner - so happy you approve!!! :-)
boy if love isn't a cat's cradle, I don't know what is!

well done!
Dear Monkey, thank you so much!
I love science and art combined.
Dear Mime, me too! In another life I would have been a scientist. In this life, I can't hack the math! :-)
