In other news, The Asbury Park press is reporting that a New Jersey young man is being charged for the death of Alexis Cohen. The report states that Ocean County prosecutors claim that Cohen, 25, passed away from head and torso injuries on July 25, 2009 in Seaside Heights, N.J., after being hit by a vehicle driven by a Toms River, N.J., man named Daniel Bark.

At the time, prosecutors say Bark, 24, was trying to escape from the police after a previous car accident. He was arrested the day after and charged with a drunk driving violation.

Thursday, a grand jury handed up a four-count indictment charging Bark with aggravated manslaughter, death by auto, eluding police and knowingly fleeing the scene of an accident that resulted in a fatality, according to the newspaper. He remains jailed on $150,000 bail.

Cohen appeared in the audition for Seasons seven and eight and will be remembered for her reaction to the American Idol Judge Simon Cowell and for her frantic rejection rant, which later appeared on youtube.
