Bio
Mother/Leader/Herder and Main Cheerleader of a truly diversified brood. My daughter is Creek/Choctaw/African-American/White/...One son is Cherokee/Choctaw/White, and the youngest son, though blond(?) is like me: Choctaw/White, with a little bit of Black Irish thrown in for seasoning. I love them all, colorful as they are. That's not counting the Pitbull and the German Shepherd - I swear, they're smarter than my kids.

Mama had a Meltdown - UPDATE

Rate: 6 Flag

The cops just left. They measured the skidmarks her car left, and estimated her speed at between 40 and 50 mph, so she's been charged with Reckless Driving (20 mph over the speed limit). That'll lose her license for her for at least 90 days, or more, depending how pissed off the judge is, and make her insurance rates skyrocket.

They also issued a warrant for her arrest on the charge of Reckless Endangerment of a Minor. We can only hope for some jail time, but I'll settle for a really hefty fine.

Last, but not least, they charged her with Issuing Threats. That one may not stick, but hey....throwing everything at her is just fine with me.

We have plenty of witnesses, so proving everything isn't a problem, and I find myself liking my city cops much more.  They were all super nice, and concerned.

I can't wait to go to court.

Bitch is toast. Nothing left to do but plate her, plop on a dollop of marmalade, and pour the coffee.
I know. Ain't it great? *grin*
Good. That is so frightening... speeding around kids. Hate it.

There is a slew/pack/passel of kids who live a few blocks from where I live and I always slow way down... drives people behind me nuts, I bet, but... geez, you never know when a little rascal/prince/princess is going to head into the street. Why take that chance, ever?

Good job, Mom.
It's nice when, once in a while, the system actually works FOR somebody. Thanks for the update - I had been thinking about this.
Glad everything is ok - I get so paranoid with my nephews (3 and 8) playing anywhere close to the street. Regardless of the neighborhood, I keep imagining the worst. It doesn't help that every once in a while you see the random idiot flying down the street.

I WAS SO HAPPY READING THIS! It is so hard to pursue something like this, good for you, b/c none of us want to be seen as complainers, especially when there is a natural distrust for cops among some of us. But by standing up for your kids, you make a safer world for all of ours!

I am also encouraged to read that the police were so supportive - wonderful story all around. Triple rated for social action (well... if I could).
Good. Damn good.
