Bio
Mother/Leader/Herder and Main Cheerleader of a truly diversified brood. My daughter is Creek/Choctaw/African-American/White/...One son is Cherokee/Choctaw/White, and the youngest son, though blond(?) is like me: Choctaw/White, with a little bit of Black Irish thrown in for seasoning. I love them all, colorful as they are. That's not counting the Pitbull and the German Shepherd - I swear, they're smarter than my kids.

It seemed appropriate for a sad day.
it is certainly sad.

"and never was"

Whew - nice.
Those moments of realization are invariably miserable, aren't they...And then you have to learn to trust again.
Hopefully this is not a reflection of something going on in your life. it is beautifully composed but powerful and heady stuff.
That's tight - so much in so few words.
Excellent poem, revealing without revealing too much. Even scarier is the fact that most of us never see ourselves, either. As Bobbie Burns put it, "wad the gifte the giftie gie us ta see ourselves as others see us".
It's appropriate for a month of sad days.

Thank you. :rose:
Duane ~ Thank you.

Waking ~ Thank you, but it's all good. It was a long time ago, and far, far away, yannow?

Wordsmith ~ Yes. It's very hard to learn that particular skill again.

Harp ~ Thank you. No, nothing that's going on currently, thank goodness, although when it was written...yes.

Owl ~ Thank you.

Tom ~ my thanks, especially for the Burns reference.

Hello ~ you're a constant friend.

Kathy ~ thank you.
This was worth another read.
