Reasons to Go

New faces --- each time you go, all the new ones, to see, meet, get to know a bit
New places --- a world full, just waiting to be explored
Break old habits --- drop the old stimuli, then lose the old habit.
Learn a new language --- best way to learn it: have to speak it to eat, sleep & get where you want to go. Each day, all day.
And a new culture --- forget HBO, OJ, sports talk. Replace with the history, art & values of another people.
Get away
Be alone
Clear your head
Make a difference, any way you can

Reasons to Stay

Pay the bills
Reach the Number
Be there for the kids
& those who love you

Come through for those who depend on you

You covered it all and rather quickly I might add! Rated.
Very astute. I can't tell you the suffering I've seen when people are ambivalent...back and forth between the leave and stay. The ambivalence is much more likely worse than either of the decisions.
Yes, indeed, marytkelly, it's the ambivalence that kills you. You keep hoping there can be an "inbetween state." So, Charlie, which choice "won"? Or are you still stuck in ambivalence?
Stay!!!!!........for their sake...........and yours!
Actually, I should add after reading Gary's plea that I really DO think that there can sometimes be an in between. Like splitting your time between two countries/locations.
Wow deep heavy thoughts. Sounds like your itching for a change. Let us know how your desicion making process turns out.
