Leonard Lopate hosted an interesting segment on his talk show here in NYC today: what's your six-word memoir? How would you sum up your life in six words? Listeners challenged to capture their existence in this very short form came up with some vivid examples:
- Hippie Van, Government Man, Retirement Fan
- Lazy mornings, Sunday Times, Then: Kids
- Anxious heart, but love brings stillness
- Drunk miserable sober happy joyous free
- city girl living in surburban hell
- wish i could get it right
- Arrived early. Hope to leave late.
- I haven't figured it out yet
- GOAL: Ballplayer CURRENT STATUS: Unemployed shortstop
... okay, 8 miles of hills over the past hour and here's what I've come up with:
Much given, much expected, some delivered.

Mine is a reheat and serve comment. A couple of weeks ago another blogger made a similar post. Six-word memoirs are interesting title writing or headline writing exercises.
