Life has three check lists, the way I see it. Checklist #1 is for mandatory things. Checklist #2 is for nice to have things. Checklist #3 doesn't have any entries yet, but I refuse to go through life with only two checklists. I guess the first entry should be "Create checklist #3."
Checklist #1 has only one item. "Wake up." Everything after that is pretty much gravy (but I refuse to call checklist #2 the Gravy Checklist because people would just get the wrong idea, and be showing up at my front door with knives and forks at the ready.) Although don't get me wrong... there's lots of food items on checklist #2. And beer (which is a food group unto itself, and as such could very well head up checklist #3 once it figures itself out.)
But today is Sunday. And the good news... the really, really Good News... is that I have completed checklist #1 for today. January 31 2010. I woke up.
"Check."

So maybe they are under #1 ... Check!
Sorry... #1, YES! I got that done too! Now gravy?
I pretty much live by that credo now and I understand what he meant. If, upon waking, I am able to get out of bed and get dressed, then I know I can not only make it to work, but I can enjoy the time.
Awesome!
That's how I feel some days, and not in a negative way, just in a simple-things-to-be-grateful-for-way.
:-)
Scarlett... Don't forget if you get beer that comes under checklist #3. If you start mixing the checklists up it can lead to nothing but tears.
CK Dexter... You say gravy, I say beer. This is more of an artform than a science.
Torman... just remember to look both ways before crossing that country lane of yours. If you don't... checklist #1 becomes a bit of a moot point.
Lisa... Can you talk to scanner? He seems to be wearing his grumpy pants today.
scanner... expect a call from Lisa. Or come to Newfoundland, where I am today. You can't wear a scowl in newfoundland. They kiss cod here, fer cryin' out loud.
N. Jordan... Awesome April. You can take that on as a project.
Spotted... Yes, my simple mind (as opposed to spotted mind) devises simple things. Simplicity is in, and of, itself a wonderful thing. Just don't call me simpleton.
sckeletnwmn... Don't forget the "Settle New Planet" checklist. It's a work in progress. And it's secret. So hush, hush... mum's the word... and all that rot. And thanks for thinking of coffee. That definitely should be on checklist #1. I like your thinking.
