I was raised to believe that life was what you made of it. If you didn’t like something about your life, you didn’t whine about it, you got up off your ass and did something to change it. This philosophy applied, of course, to everything except marriage. Once you’d made that decision if it turned out you didn’t like it you didn’t change it, you whined about it.
I sometimes think I must be doing something wrong in my life – I have nothing to whine about and it seems of all my family and friends I am the only one. I hear all about the hated jobs and the greater hated bosses. And at nauseam I am provided all the details of marital discord. And way too often I am made privy to political views by people who have never bothered to vote but who seem to hold all the answers to satisfy any political agenda.
To all these otherwise wonderful people who cannot help but whine about how empty their lives are I offer this simple bit of advice: adopt a dog, take in that stray cat, house a rabbit. I promise you do this and your life will balance full circle leaving you truly full of poop.
