Today I had to call the car insurance company. The lady and I chatted for a bit as to how COLD it is! Yeah, she's in Georgia and there it's like 29 degrees, brrr. Here, it's like 32, that's freezing, man!

(But really I'm originally from Wisconsin and so I KNOW what cold really is. I try to explain it to my kids that really, it gets colder outside back home than what the freezer will ever do.)
It was 16°F when I came in last night, and tonight's expected low is 2°F.

This is Tennessee, man, we don't do single digits. WTF!?!?
My car read -4 when I was driving in to work this morning. It was so cold my siberians even wanted to come inside.
You can piss instant stalactites here today.

I just recently relocated to Georgia from Connecticut (outside NYC) and despite the cold prediction for today (48/23) through Saturday (33/9).... I just stepped out in shorts & a fleece jacket.... that would not happen in CT until possibly mid-April.

I guess this difference in weather is just another reason the War Between the States were fought....
32? That sounds rather pleasant at this point. Right now, the high for today here in Chicago is 0. The high. I'm still amazed. I think I need to go somewhere warmer for a few months. Georgia, New York, Tennessee, all those places sound better at this point!
It's supposed to be 8 degrees out tomorrow.
Dude, don't I know it- I"ve been couch-bound today, watchin' the snow and then the sun, knowing it's f-f-f-freeeeeeezing out there and I STILL have to make a run for kleenex and NyQuil.

I'll be a-snugglin' up to that pic when I get back. It's almost as good as the Yule Log on tv. ;)
OK Chris, you've convinced me not to go outside. My thermometer on my back door reads about 10 degrees warmer than it actually is just because of the way the sun hits it and the fact that the heat from the apartment warms it. Right now it says 24.4 degrees.

I'm going to go look at my Hawaii photos from last winter to see if that helps.
oh yeah, and as I post that last comment, an email comes through from the cruise line we were on last year! (no, I did not choose to go on a cruise, nor will I ever again. It was my mother-in-law's idea and we were unable to beg out of it)
Chris,
Thanks for the Redbuds!! Aw,.......thoughts of Spring!
It's been -20 here at it's lowest. Damn hard to walk the dogs. They have more sense than I do........but then again, they're naked.
Quick! Double the carbon emissions!
I must confess that even "Seamy Town" has become a bit chilly for my tastes lately...
Brrr ... it's 52 right now in Southern California ...

*ducking and running from the inevitable snowballs and icy eyes coming my way*

(I do feel for all y'all though - was born in UT, where it was downright frigid.)
Oh, you poor southern California folk! It's pretty warm here--like 35 I think. By the way, that kid with the bike is eating ice cream. What a beautiful day that was.
