30 Rock is one of the best tv shows ever. The writing is amazingly sharp, Alec Baldwin is hysterical, Tina Fey rules, etc etc. I'm not going to rehash all of those things, though of course they're all valid.
What I love about 30 Rock--in addition to all the other stuff, including the wacky Tracy plots--is the friendship between Jack and Liz. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin work together brilliantly to create a friendship without the cliched sexual tension. The characters love each other, but it's purely platonic.
I can't recall the last show on television that centered (more or less) around a platonic friendship between a man and a woman. And it's a great thing to see. They play off of each other and help each other and laugh at each other. They act like real people who are the closest of friends.
As Jack said in last night's episode, "Lemon, I don't know what I'd do without you." And then as she walked out of the office he teasingly called her Bijoux (the name she had used on a phone-sex commercial that she had done a long time ago...I almost lizzed during that part).

sorry for raving. i'm just so pleased to have someone to talk about this with. my favorite episode up until now was when jack set liz up with a lesbian. did you see that one. i loved it!!! it was stephanie march from law and order: svu and she's gorgeous and her back and forth with tina fey was the best. i was actually hoping that liz might go over to that side for a bit, it was so cool.
okay, enough from me. thank you. you brought me a little bit out of a very very very dark palce. love and gratitude
