Nala's Mommy
Bio
I live a quiet, peaceful life, and that's the way I want it to be. I have a precious cat who appeared at my doorstep in the middle of the night crying when she was a tiny kitten, and I kept her, naming her Nala. My life's dream is to retire in a little log cabin, way out in the forest, far away from all humans. Just me and my kitties, bunnies, birdies and my own garden and sewing machine and computer. The only place I'd go would be to the library or to the creek nearby to catch frogs.

It's Hot Here

Wow I think the last time that I posted a blog was back in June. So since I'm feeling a little lazy and relaxed today, just thought I'd update my Menagerie. I've been letting my hair grow.

I'm back to looking for work and waiting until the college semester starts over again. And sorta hoping (no really hoping) that Jerry my manager at Doculynx gets a new project for us. When I say us I mean the team of Orange County workers. And while I wait, I do things like read, farm on my Facebook and swim in the pool here. I've been finding a few very very good novels to read lately. The one that I finished today was written by Steve Martin, the comedian. It's called Object of Beauty. And another excellent book that I couldn't put down until I finished it, The Art of Racing in the Rain. I've also read The Prodigal Summer, another very good novel. And Every Last One, Rescue, Losing Charlotte, Blessings and loads of others.

Other things like my brother was in town with McKinzee my niece. We went do dinner at El Ranchito on Thursday. It's our favorite Mexican restaurant since childhood... We also did some driving around the places where we used to live and play. He left with KcKinzee to Hollywood to see a band who she likes, the band members are from Missouri and are her friends.

The city's Corn Festival was this weekend, going on right now. There's a yearly parade too. I used to be in the parade when I was a kid with my horse, I was in the 4-H Club. I got a front row seat now, because the parade goes right down the boulevard I now live on. And the building seems to be the exact place where the parade people stop and do their thing. So I snapped a lot of pics of the beautiful horses and the bands, and the horses. I was just out there to see the horses.

I've managed to find someone to store my belongings that I left up in the mountains. My super nice next-door-neighbor Wade offered to get them from Larry. Wade has a business up there that's a zipline. Zip Tahoe it's called. He moved up there when I did and we lived right next to each other. He's this super laid back guy. I miss him and I miss the peace up there. And I'm so happy that he's getting my stuff out and away from Larry. Here's another good picture of the zipline. This was pretty much right in my neighborhood. Anybody looking at these pictures would see why I didn't like leaving there.

Another thing I'm thankful for is my tiny apartment. It's easy to clean. And it's in a place that I am very familiar with. My mother and I have "turned a corner" I think. No more arguing. And it's very nice to have a mother to talk to now. She's been telling me how hot it is in Missouri, but it's hot here too. I am sure it's gotten up to 100 degrees lately.

Oh yah and I was sort of dating an artist. That lasted 5 days. He smokes way too much weed ! He hung up on my Thursday after he asked me if he was boring me, and I answered truthfully, saying yes. I should tell him that there is a difference between drama and being interesting. I started a painting of my own at his house. Now I need to go back and get it, along with my beach chair I left in the back yard.

Here's a picture of my precious kitty Nala. She's such good company. Except when she got out a few weeks ago, and scared me to death. I found her in the bushes in front, near the busy street, hiding in the ivy scared to death.
