I've never played by the rules. I was absent the day they handed those out. I believe in being kind, playing fair, laughing often, not judging others and drinking red wine. And I always kiss my Sweetie goodnight. It may lead to other fun stuff. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Life is short!  Break the rules!  Forgive quickly!  Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably... And never regret anything that made you smile. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Always remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Part of the secret of a success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside. ~ Mark Twain

My Husband Tried To Fix His Shoes

Rate: 12 Flag

Will it ever end? I hope not. I'd much rather laugh everyday than think about world problems constantly.

Some of you may recall that my husband decided to take matters into his own hands and fix my shoes that had fallen apart. I swear he was a shoe maker in a former life, and I'm positive he was dirt poor.

The point of this little story is that we recently added a new puppy, Daphne, who is a Goldendoodle, to our family.  She is beautiful and we have completely fallen in love with her. As is the case with puppies, they like to chew, and she is no exception; we are always moving things out of her way and replacing said things with her toys.

Well, she chewed on Daniel's shoes and of course he said, “Don't worry I can fix them.” My daughter, having OCD, went ballistic when she saw how he had fixed them.  “ I'm sure you can afford another pair of those crappy shoes. I'm going out to buy you a pair as soon as I can!” Oh believe me she went on and on, and he kept egging her all the while.

In the meantime this is the sight we are treated to everyday. Sometimes he'll even be more fashionable and wear socks with them. I live for those days!

It was wschanz who commented on the story about my shoes. He said, ”A little glue and duct tape will fix those right up.” But I thought  he was kidding,  and I should have never shown that comment to Daniel.

P.S Don't you just love the white duct tape? I know, you don't have to say it, "A little black magic marker will fix that right up."

If anyone wants to refresh their memory of  his escapades with my shoes, here is the link.

I think Daniel's a Gift. :) r.
Great for walking through the wet grass in the morning. I have a couple pair that look like that too!

Love me some duct tape!
Thank you for Pming this post or I wold have missed it.
This was hilarious and one reason I used to carry around 5 colours of duct tape..:)
Rated with hugs
I only wish duct tape worked on sagging boobs! Just don't let your husband get near your bras!

@ Bonnie: a glue gun and sparkly things make great pasties!
R
Bonnie, I have the visual now and it's not too pretty, but really funny
Jonathan, he is a gift in every sense of the word.
Linnn, I love duct tape too
Linda, OOOOH, I used to have all the colors. Now I have to go and find them
Donna, I'll keep that in mind....about the pasties of course. Your comment really had me LMAO
Well at least he isn't fixing his glasses with tape. that is the ultimate nerd sign. Very funny post. RRRRR
Bernadine, oh thank God, but you never know!
I have fixed shoes like that :)
You have a treasure in laughter!!!
Love your adventures with your over enthusiastic Daniel. He's only trying to please you, Christine. What a blessing.

Lunchlady, it is a treasure to be able to laugh everyday.
Fusun, He is such a blessing.
Your husband's good people. A good resource conserver. (They make black duct tape, you know - all kinds of colors, actually - if he feels creative.)
Nerd, oh he's creative alright!
That was great. I could see him with a Bedazzler gun, and decorating his shoes that way too. Awesome job Christine.
Just duct tape the puppies mouth shut until it gets over the chewing stage.
*puppy's

(and of course, I was just joking)
Actually, Larry, Daniel has thought of duct taping his own mouth on a couple of occasions. But then again, who hasn't. Aren't you supposed to get a trophy or something for being Mr 2,000,000....sharing with Lezlie no doubt.
Don't know anything about a trophy...But I did win a new car.

...and who is Lezlie?
"What's wrong with them? They look great to me." That's what my husband would say. And he'd admire the ingenuity it took to fix them. Plus...Daphne won't be through chewing for a while yet, so why go buy new shoes now? (Again, that's my husband talking.)
