Sarah Palin was a red herring- a grand pander to the religious right from the get go. Choosing her for the ticket was just another way the Republican disinformation machine avoids talking about the issues and keeps the focus away from McCain's loyalty to the wealthiest of us at the expense of the rest of us.

The most relivant fact we should know about Sara Palin is that she is a religious extremist but you wouldn't know it from following the media's obsessive focus on her family and her gender.  The most important question we want to ponder is whether we want a religious extremist in charge of the nuclear launch codes. Common sense, the instinct for self preservation and concern for the survival of the human race should disqualitfy her outright.
