After college and the USAF and a couple of office jobs I took a job as a motor coach operator. I took that job because there was more money in it and it got me outside; in the winter, one goes to work in the dark and returns in the dark. This was supposed to be temporary until I figured out what I wanted to do when I grew up.

I'm retired and most of my 401k was rolled over and is invested in the same securities that grew my pension in the first place. We have a 5 year plan and hope to start drawing a modest amount from this in 5 yrs. time. We are not traders. We will not panic and end up buying high and selling low.

That's the plan here. But we really don't have any other ideas except for going to Ireland with the rest of the jobs. :-)

Except PF, Ireland is practically the "51st" state now. They are so dependent in US companies that their economy has been troubled as long as our has :-(
