Bio
A "writer" in that I transmit others' words, all the time, on a huge variety of subjects. A professional observer; a silent listener. I nonetheless have a voice, which I like to let out once in awhile (nice doggie). Owner of children and cats and one puppy. Standing still, battling fight or flight syndrome.

What's wrong with the world mama?
People living like ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world's addicted to the drama
Only attracted to the things that bring you trauma
Overseas yeah we tryin to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin
In the USA the big CIA the Bloodz and the Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And if you hatin you're bound to get irate
Yeah madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
You gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love y'all

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the love2x)

It just ain't the same all ways have changed
New days are strange is the world the insane?
If love and peace so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
Nations dropping bombs
Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones
With ongoing suffering
As the youth die young
So ask yourself is the loving really strong?
So I can ask myself really what is going wrong
With this world that we living in
People keep on giving in
Makin wrong decisions
Only visions of them livin and
Not respecting each other
Deny thy brother
The wars' going on but the reasons' undercover
The truth is kept secret
Swept under the rug
If you never know truth
Then you never know love
Where's the love y'all?(I don't know)
Where's the truth y'all?(I don't know)
Where's the love y'all?

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm getting older y'all people get colder
Most of us only care about money makin
Selfishness got us followin the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting their young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what the see in the cinema
Whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love, we're spreading anomosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down
It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under
I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found

I know, I know.

I got it better than most of the population of this planet.
But I just can't shake it, can't shake the feeling
that our days are numbered
that we deserve whatever we get
that it's all just a big pile o' acrimony and fatal conniving.

Where's the love, y'all?
great lyrics. been asking the same question myself today.
Thank you for putting this up here...I think many of us have been asking this question with no answers, only conclusions. I can't shake the feeling either.

always loved this song.
Our days are numbered and this reminded me how close we are.
Rated with hugs
The love is there its under a bushel...
thanks for a reminder of the work ahead. I think it is possible to redeem humanity in the biblical sense.
Gary - I hope you mean the Postitive biblical sense, as in Psalms...

Psalms 103:4 "Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies."

'cause some of that other biblical stuff, it gets, well, medieval, if not apocalyptic.
I agree wholeheartedly in a positve light...
fatal conniving? Uh huh. I eat black eyed peas every New Years for luck against fatal connivers. The end is near Connie!
gorgeous piece. the art is a knockout.

and i'm all for more tender mercies and loving kindness at all times. starting now.
the love is where you make it

Peace , love and understanding.
Desert_Rat sent out an Open Call, "What will they think of us in 50 years?" 50 years? I thought of answering in the voice of a giant tortoise, because that might be the only creature left then that will remember mankind.
You examine a wound that all of us are bearing right now. We have apocalypto on the brain these days and cringe under the weight of the sky.
This was Great. What a poem, or Rap song, your choice. We'll get some music and put behind it and give Jay-Z a run for his money~
If we don't got the answer, we don't got it.
goodbye Gulf. dying of a broken saltwater heart
Finding a new language in which to ask the only question that matters.
New direction for you. Excellent.
"You gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate"

these two lines tell us all we need to know... so difficult and so flippen simple at the same time.

thanks for this
a-HA! I went and deleted the freakin Spam. Which means to me that y'all can do the same thing. So... please do so!

[you watch, I'll get hit thrice just for bragging about this]

And: Scanner - there IS a song/music for this piece. And it can be quoted as poetry, Defjam style, but the music is SOOOO good. I plugged in the link for their video, you can click it, hopefully, to hear/view same.
SO Powerful andI loved the imagery as well.. especially the red hands....Where is the love where is the truth y'all ? Let me know the answer.Thank you for that !!!!!
I am very much reminded of the Marvin Gaye classic that put the same question slightly differently "What's Goin' On?"

What's goin' on, indeed, where IS the love?
Connie, I read this wonderful poem and found myself nodding to the rhythm. It is great...the lyrics profound. You gotta get this poem to Jay-Z. You rock!!
The love seems to be where people like you remind us to look. Thank you for this.
Once again, darlings, this IS a song, not a poem. It's by the Black Eyed Peas. It was released in 2003. The poster at the beginning contains photos from the video; the poster at the end is the "symbol" that recurs in the video, and that teens and tweens have been tattooing (with marker) on their bodies and notebooks, even to this day.

And I'm sure if I forwarded it to JayZ, will.i.am would have something to say about it....

"The song was written by Will.I.Am, Taboo, apl.de.ap, Ron Fair, P. Board, G. Pajon Jr, M. Fratantuno, and J. Curtis, and co-produced by will.i.am and Ron Fair."*

oh, and it's a great song, so download it and play it LOUD in your car; or YouTube it and play it with HEADPHONES @ your desk!
Awesome. Excellent thought for the day.
Very powerful, Connie, and I can't help but share your sentiments of gloom. There is a crossroads up ahead, and it seems we are collectively heading for the telephone pole on the left...at top speed!
One of the best songs ever._r
it's gotten thin that's fer shure. I'm working on spreading some around, but it's a big canvas out there. I agree with you about a pervading sense of doom hanging over humanity as a whole, but if I get focused on the big picture I can't stay in a good place in my little place of influence - and that's all I've got right now. So here, I'm handing over a little love here, enjoy, then pass it on.
You had me singing along there, Connie.

Love the song, great pics to go along with them.

Well done. This then, is art and inspiration.
How did I miss this one? Very cool post.
Very cool. Glad I read it. :)
Where is the love
You said you'd give to me
Soon as you were free
Will it ever be
Where is the love

You told me that you didn't love him
And you were gonna say goodbye
But if you really didn't mean it
Why did you have to lie

Where is the love
You said was mine all mine
Till the end of time
Was it just a lie
Where is the love

If you had had a sudden change of heart
I wish that you would tell me so
Don't leave me hangin on the promises
You've got to let me know

[Instrumental Interlude]

Oh, how I wish I never met you
I guess it must have been my fate
To fall in love with someone else's love
All I can do is wait
(That's all I can do)
Yeah, hey, yeah

Where is the love

Rock on, Roberta. B.T.C.
I find as I get older my mind gets broader and I understand so much less. I don't understand hate. I don't understand apathy. I don't understand acrimony. Though I do enjoy a good snark.

Thanks for this.

The love is there, ConnieMack. You epitomize it. My thanks.

I think I was about six.
Mom sent me down the road to get some sugar.
The old guy clanged a weight on one side of the scale, held a tin pitcher and dumped a BIG pile into the scoop on the other side, then let the thinnest little stream sprinkle onto this pile... and the scale swung smartly into balance.
Dump two pounds-- no movement.
Sprinkle three tablespoons---balance.

Now, if we all were grains of sugar.......
who knows how close to that moment of perceivable movement?
You have surely added a healthy measure.
Continue the good work.
