I want to tell you...

Rate: 5 Flag

clemency comes in strange forms

it might greet you in a foreign tongue

but it tilts its head kindly and gestures for you to rest

breathe in the sweet incense of spring

every leaf a prayer flag

each gentle sigh a sutra

the ants on the kitchen counter are alphabets in a longer poem than this

but what a song these words sing. Clemency. Is there a greater gift.
I remember the ants. . .... . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . .. . ... . . . .. . ... . I remember the poem.

I particularly like "every leaf a prayer flag" - the scale is immense.
clemency, I have experience with that. it is a breathe after holding breathing in. giving and receiving it two very different things.
Bonus!

What a last line!
Your clemency to the ants is more than I can muster for the bloom of stink bugs we're enduring. I'm not Buddhist when it comes to bugs that land on me.

But this--"every leaf a prayer flag / every gentle sigh a sutra"--this I can grok. Lovely.
i have a friend who is a Buddhist, when we talk, oh yes we speak to each other in different tongues, but recognize each other in the accents

(and i do so remember the ants)
