I have to be honest, I don't actually think of Warren as being on the same level as a pedophile; that is ridiculous and is an insupportable claim. But that's the point - his statement is equally as baseless. But I wonder how he would like it if someone who had a national stage - like, oh, say an inauguration - to actually call him out as equivalent to a pedophile.

The Rick Warren thing has been done to death, but Warren saying that my gay friends are the equivalent of pedophiles is just as abhorrent as calling my black friends niggers. I hold contempt for both views equally. It's really as simple as that.

Oh, and if I were to have Warren for dinner, I'd need a lot of BBQ sauce!

I would invite Rick Warren to dinner but only to confront him and in a setting where he couldn't push his agenda. I'd ask him all kinds of questions and try to get to the core of his what I think to be abhorrent belief structure. I'd ask him why he thinks my gay friends aren't really gay and why they don't have the same civil rights...oh yes and I'd invite all of my gay friends over to dinner as well...but we wouldn't act as if he would expect us to act, we'd show him that gay or straight we are the same and we deserve to be treated with the same decent respect.

Someone would have to pluck that goatee before preparing him for the roasting spit
