Super Bowl Official* 3D Glasses Test Area

Rate: 5 Flag

After photographing the snowbound barbecue grill on my back deck, I got a brilliant idea. I’d gotten those cardboard 3D glasses at the supermarket so that we can watch the Monsters vs. Aliens preview during the Super Bowl tonight. And apparently there are 3D commercials.

Lame, perhaps, but I am a sucker for 3D.

So, as an OS public service, I present to you the Official* Super Bowl 3D Glasses Test Area, complete with a version of a photo of my lonely (channelling Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass playing “The Lonely Bull” here) grill in what just might pass for 3D.

But wait, there’s more! What if you 3D-ify (not to be confused with deify) the pulled pork for the gametime ’Snow Worries Pulled Pork Sammiches as well. Might it not be even more mouth-wateringly good?

Mmmmmmm . . . 3-dimensional pulled pork

As I thought, my glasses fell off my nose and into my plate where they’re now gathering barbecue sauce like a sponge. Hopefully I can just wipe them off with a moist towellette.

We now return you to your regular programming.

*Official because CoyoteOldStyle, like Stone Cold Steve Austin, said so.

I'm foregoing the football, and it's just me for supper, but I found a piece of wild salmon in the freezer...... :)~
The photos sort of work with the NBC/Intel 3d glasses I have laying around—as much as these things ever work. Thanks for posting this.

Rated for eye-popping 3d themely fun ... not to mention the thought of the yummy pulled pork sandwiches...
Brian, that sounds very tasty. Especially foregoing the football. I'm looking forward to the commercials myself.

Kent thanks, it's an experiment and most of all it's for FUN which you get. Stop by later for a sammich!
I wonder how many people bothered to get the glasses. I'm not 100% sure why I did—I'm not that big a Superbowl fan. I mostly watch for the commercials. I wonder if there'll be any good 3d commercials.
I'll tell ya, I don't know for sure but I think there might be some 3D commercials. Especially for the Monsters vs. Aliens movie. Maybe I'll watch the whole game with the glasses on.
Please hand me a brewski (buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurp, scuse me) and another pulled - pork sammich! I may be seeing 4D by the end of the game. ;-)
Umbrella, sorry, sammiches are all gone. We're on to the chicken satay with peanut sauce, homemade pizza and veggies with dill dip.

Greg, no brewskis here. You'd have to bring yer own.

Did you dig that halftime show?????
Keep the glasses. Send the pulled pork. We are disparate for pulled pork in snowy cold Newcomerstown. It would be just what we need to warm our spirits.

Monte
Well, indeed those 3d commercials around halftime were really quite good—better even than these home-made 3d photos. But then, I bet DreamWorks had more budget. :)
Monte, how about some chicken satay with peanut sauce? No? Okay, I've got about a sammich's-worth stowed away in the fridge. I'll just try to scan it and sent it to you.

Kent are you sure DreamWorks has more budget than me? Surely you jest! But those 3D effects were really quite good, weren't they? They reminded me of a 3D movie I saw at DisneyWorld a few years ago during which insects seemed to fly right at you and around the theater. Just great entertainment!
I'm getting dizzy looking at that pulled pork, which is the effect you were going for right? It looks scrumptious. My daughter stole my 3D glasses and then misplaced them, so I have to look at it all blurry.

beautiful
bbd, I'm still dizzy from eating football food. The photos actually look kind of 3D when you view it with the 3D glasses. But this is a low-budget operation so I guess you get what you pay for. Kind of replicates the eyesight on the morning after an evening of overimbibing. Thank you for your thoughts!
