Fall foliage color is at its peak on this Columbus Day Weekend in New Hampshire. Here in the Monadnock Region in the southwestern part of the state, we have amazing displays of gold, orange, red and yellow.
Above the treeline, the 3,165 foot (965 meter) granite visage
of Mt. Monadnock watches the seasons change.
Thank goodness I didn't crash into any stalled leaf peepers while I was on this photo jaunt.
A lone maple tree with golden yellow leaves, tinged with brilliant red.
The leaves on this maple in Keene, New Hampshire's
Ashuelot River Park are almost solid red.
A view from a marshland in Keene showing the crazy-quilt color
of a hillside in the near distance.
The waterfall in Ashuelot River Park. (Just for you, Bill S.!)
Swirling water and fallen leaves at the base of the waterfall.
Another golden and red maple, this one with a split trunk.
Ferns in my backyard take on a range of delicate color all their own
and keep their distinctive shapes.

Yeah, Brenda, there's a big patch of ferns where most people would put a garden. They're beautiful all times of the year. Well, maybe not under snow in winter.
Michael, it's disconcerting for me when I visit parts of the country that don't have the turn of seasons like we do. The change is good for us, I think.
Owl, thank you kindly. I'm happy that I can share what I see.
Great color in them thar hills. We are just now starting to lose it, the breezy rainy weather is beginning to take its toll on the leaves in central Vermont. I was out Sunday with my daughter taking pics, and it was still nice but you could see spots where the trees that had already turned were getting pretty bare.
Lovely shots, Nancy. Looks like we won't be getting down to West Leb until this coming weekend, I have to go by the boss's schedule. Will let you know if it seems imminent. :-D
Rated.
We have a beautiful lookout which I am doing a Panoramic shot of weekly. It will be great if I am able to upload - we will see.
Thanks to you and Bill for the inspiration ... East to West Fall is my favorite time of year.
