OS Meetup: Texas Invasion!

Rate: 28 Flag

This past weekend. the borders of my fair state of New Hampshire were breached by a Texas invasion of sorts. What would you have done in my place had this happened to you?

That's right, you'd jump on the bandwagon and go to the ensuing party celebration! Julie Delio warned us of her impending invasion, and Bill S. responded that he'd be happy to come to the aid of the party. Bill is so political like that.

Before you knew it, the roundish table was filled with other OS knights, eager to join in the festivities. What electric conversation ensued between Kent Pitman, Gwool, Julie Delio, Bill S. and C. K. Dexter Haven!

We ventured out kind of close to the trees. Photograph copyright (c) 2010 CoyoteOldStyle

After exhausting most of the snacks, we decided that exercise was warranted, so we moved the conversation outside to enjoy the splendor of New Hampshire's natural beauty.

What a happy, photogenic group! Photograph Copyright (c) 2010 CoyoteOldStyle

The afternoon was filled with laughter, gossip and discussions ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. We all agreed we were an incredibly photogenic group . . .

Okay, it's a group with an attitude! Photograph Copyright (c) 2010 CoyoteOldStyle

. . . with an attitude!

Sounds like great fun. But is there more that you're not telling us? ;)
That's quite a crew! We love OS meet-up pics! Thanks for posting, but where are the juicy details??? "Electric conversation" isn't exactly dishing the dirt ;-)
What a gorgeous group! That sounds like good fun . . .
Love the pictures!
Good times. I would love to be a fly on the wall for this party!
sounds like a fun reunion!
Damn. My jealousing has reached hitherto unheard of heights! And you ARE a gorgeous bunch :)
And to think I missed it!
COS, what a great OS meetup! You are all so fortunate to have arranged this and had a nice get together in a lovely setting there in NH!
It was a very pleasant event—I was glad to finally get to go to one of these. Thanks for posting this record of it, Coyote.
It was such a blast to finally meet all of these marvelous people. I was grateful for the opportunity to meet and talk with all of you.

No, I will not be telling tales. Yes, I came back to comment on this post because COS is a great friend and after so many failed attempts at getting together we finally managed to do it.

Carry on. :-D
Julie certainly flips the bird with a certain attitude and demeanor that would get me to stop dead in my tracks.
Too much fun -- go Julie!
Bill, do you have pictures to share, too? Or were you too busy photographing dragon flies to catch action shots of us gossiping back and forth about all the people who weren't able to attend?
Oh man, I'm so jealousing! This looked like a riot!

-R-
Thanks, everyone. It was a great party, but as you know, what happens in New Hampshire stays in New Hampshire!
This was an excellent surprise and everyone looked fabulous - didn't you love showing off your incredible place COS? Just ducky, all of it!
Gwool, flipped the bird? who knew?
@ Rita: It might be fair to say I instigated ...
I feel like a real outcast. I don't know any of you, and you probably don't know me. I read a lot of people. Now I have more to read. Your get-together sounds like fun. R-
Julie definitely has that middle finger salute waving like a pro. But I have to say I do like that face C.K. Dexter is making. I'll bet she's got some stories to tell. If we could get her likkered up enough to tell them of course ;p
Kent - I do have some photos other than of dragonflies. :-D

I will admit though that I had not considered posting them here. I'm more of a guest here now than anything, and I don't know as I want to start posting again. The last one I did, I did for Deven - I have known her so long that it felt wrong NOT to post that for her.

I am currently going through some 3k photos from my time in California - it will probably be a couple of days before I get to this weekend's photos. I will keep you guys posted via messages when I've got something to share, possibly on FB if no one objects.
Julie was the Pied Piper of rural New Hampshire, and these people were much nicer then I am. It was all I could do to keep my potty mouth in check and remember my table manners.

@Susan... likkerin' me up does nuthin' but put me to sleep.
Abby, it wasn't COS's place. The alleged “invader” from Texas arranged the meeting place, oddly enough. It was a beautiful spot to meet, though. And our hosts, friends of Julie's and not themselves OS'ers, were really incredibly gracious to put up with us. If the post title were really correct it would show that all of us were invaders...

C.K., I noticed no potty mouth so you hid it well. Then again, if there was a mention of potty anything, maybe I thought you said party... Some regional accents can tend to do that (though patty is perhaps the more commonly expected pronunciation).
Uh, that's "PAH-tee" to you flatlanders.
Fabulous, thanks for posting this complete with what we call "family portrait" with the finger salute.
I have finally gotten a computer that works, together with a signal strong enough to comment.

Yes, there was more. Isn't there always?

I do have awesome friends, as exhibited by these photos. Even my RL ones.

It was my privilege to visit the Granite State long enough to encourage these folks to congregate. A wonderful afternoon was had by all -- even my RL friends whose home we borrowed.

Thanks, Nancy for posting the pictures. And not only do my digits work, my potty mouth works just fine too, thank you very much.
Looks like you all had your . . finger on the pulse of things.

Say hi to Bill. Miss him.
Wonderful to see these friends. Thanks so much!
A motley crew, to be sure!
That was so cool. Thanks for sharing.

In that last picture, where you guys showing how many times you have been on the OS cover? lol

Or where you giving the officially unofficial OS salute. R

Gossip...hmm...I'm sure I was one of the ones who you gossiped about.
What a good looking bunch. Looks like it was a great day.
