Hello and welcome to my new blog “The SLO(w) Food Experience"!

I just recently moved to San Luis Obispo, and one of the many things that struck me is the sense of community that I have experienced here. It is decidedly different from living in a huge city, and let's face it, the town is amazing from so many perspectives... educational, environmental, social, development-wise, and last but not least, food-wise!

But the thing that caught my interest from the very beginning was the Farmers' Market of San Luis Obispo, which is held every Thursday from 6pm to 9pm, on Higuera Street. There I truly started meeting the people that live around here and learned to appreciate the great opportunities, social and culinary, that such an event creates.

As such, in a way to repay them for this valuable lesson, and as a way to get to know them all better, I decided to create this blog. It's not simply a blog about food, nor is it simply a listing of places to get it. I will talk to the people that sell their products at the San Luis Obispo Farmers' Market, and discover their stories. I'll learn about their passion for their products and their creations. It is all about them, and through me, getting you to know them better.

This is a brand new adventure; a true jump into the center of things and a chance to experience culinary discoveries and share them with readers across the world. It is definitely a great opportunity to really look around at what you have within reach and realize that it was much more than you had originally imagined it would be!

This will not be a “one time thing” either. I will go back and talk to them again, I will keep a look out for new products and ideas they bring to us, and I will continue to share this with you.

So, as someone with a passion for cooking, writing, and eating and has traveled and dined in different countries, tasting everything from the very common to the unusual, it is my pleasure to write for your enjoyment!

Welcome to Open, may your adventure here and out there be a good one! :)
Thank you, Tinkerertink! I hope you enjoy the articles!
Is there no option to allow outsides to comment? Another site, another account...

So if I don't use an account for more than 3 months I should delete it? Probably, its starting to pile (virtually).

Anyway. This blog looks intersting, edible.
Elf: ah, well, there is a Facebook Group for this too, so if you want to comment there, it's cool too!
I can imagine how happy you are to live there. It is a good experience and is very interesting. On the one hand it is very pleasant to live in a small community if you get on well with other people. But you can imagine how bad you will feel if the majority will not like what you do. Asfor food experience it is very interesting to taste all traditional dishes. I was surprised to notice how different they are. As for me, I often cook. I usually use cookery books which I download from shared files SE http://www.sharedshares.com . As far as I have noticed people usually change only some details in the recipe and it becomes special.
