It's been a funny kind of week. It started off with me feeling fine on Sunday evening, only to feel increasingly light-headed, right up until the moment I started worshipping at the great toilet god, so to speak.
I took Monday off to recover from a night of twitching sleeplessness, only to be then hit by the news that my uncle Mike has had a stroke. I've always liked the guy, hell he married my aunt and has saved my old computer from death umpteen times, but smoking like an industrial chimney and refusing to go to the doctor about high blood pressure until it's very late in the day is not a good road to go down. He's now out of intensive care and in a stroke unit, so yay.
Tuesday I went back to work. And was sent home for looking pale and sweaty and exhausted. Which I was.
Wednesday I actually listened to Kathleen properly and wasn't stubborn (my god, daytime tv is utterly CRAP!!!) and I slept in and took a sick day. Oh and a summons for jury duty fell through the letterbox. Joy.
Today I went back to work, had meetings about my forthcoming trip to Monte Carlo and failed to fall over, despite being a bit tired.
Tomorrow I have more meetings and then on Saturday my lovely wife and I are getting up at 5am to drive me to the airport so I can check in before 7.20am. Saturday is also her birthday. I'm going to be heading for the nearest Leonidas in Monte Carlo to get her a box of the finest chocolates.
So all in all this week has been a bit like the ride I took on the Behemoth ride at Canada's Wonderland a month ago. Here's what it's like...

Tink - I could feel my brain cells being denuded of life just watching it... luckily there was the documentary channels, with a diet of death and destruction and animal porn!
Amy - oh hell yes!
Ablonde - I'm off to the Reinsurance Rendez-Vous there. Five days of running around and exhaustion.
Aim - Toffee spent Monday and Wednesday sitting on my chest when I was in bed and purring in a surprised manner. She's getting much more into being petted.
Cap'n - the end of next week can't come soon enough!
Kathy - lol, I'm always too busy in MC to really enjoy my time there!
The cats and I will miss you very much as you hang out on balconies overlooking the Med drinking champagne....they will be eating kibble bits and sitting on me, wondering where you are!
