We have the car back. We are still not happy. The owner of the offending shop refused to pay the entire cost of the engine replacement, stating that the engine he found for it had significantly less miles and either we pay half or he would wait until he could find one with similar miles. Thus, we had to shell out yet another $400 for repairs that we should never have had to make in the first place, much less pay for. Thus, we have a meeting with my lawyer next week. She will be writing him a stern letter requesting that he reimburse us for our costs, as it was his fault to begin with. If we hear no response within 30 days, or a negative response, we are filing a suit in small claims court.
