I Am For Peace

I am for peace.

Not the peace that is an extension of war by political means. Real peace. The peace the comes when people everywhere say no to war.

I am for peace.

I am for the kind of peace that can happen when patriots everywhere lay down the weapons and work together to rebuild a world with different values.

I am for peace.

One world, it's all we have, and we have to share it, not just with others alive today, but with our great-great grandchildren and their children.

I am for peace.

No life altering, body mutiliating woulds from explosives, no missing limbs, or broken minds from seeing things no human should ever have to see.

I am for peace.

I'm with you, CZ! Too long have we labored under the fiction that war is good for the economy and good for defending the "righteous." It's time to be done with it.

I'd like that, too. Not to get too far down my usual pitch, but we have to do something about excess growth of everything from people to resource use, though. If everyone is to share, but we're making new people all the time and new ways for them to consume, but not making any new resources and not even maintaining the ones we have, I see no way for us to get to where you describe. War seems the inevitable result of scarce resource and a crowded planet. I hope we'll find a way to create more balance than we have because I want the goal you describe, I just don't see us headed there.
