ET and ME - A PERSONAL NARRATIVE
by Dakini Dancer (Josephine Elizabeth Ortez)
Herewith I recount these events as I remember them. Bear in mind that things are not always as they seem. To one they may be a trivial hallucination yet to another they are moments of profound understanding.
I was born in 1948. Growing up in the 50's, Flying Saucers always seemed to be in the background of popular culture: from newspaper accounts, to movies, to songs on the radio. They hovered in the back of my psyche as well although neither fully expressed nor realized. From childhood on I maintained an interest in all things relating to the unseen and the mysterious.
In 1992 I moved to a valley in Western Marin, a county just over the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. I was drawn to the valley for its beauty and I had been told it was a hotspot for extraterrestrial energies, which made it all the more attractive. I lived in a converted barn at the end of a winding lane with my dog and cats. I had decided to focus on artistic pursuits which precluded having a lot of outside social contacts.
I have also been interested in film making and decided to write a science fiction screenplay inspired by the book Bringers of the Dawn by Barbara Marciniak. Knowing that one should write about that which one knows, I began my research of Aliens and UFOs.
That's when the dimensional doorways between the worlds were flung wide open. Wide open in that converted barn in the woods. What I experienced while awake were orbs of light appearing then disappearing. For two weeks was aware of a tall gray humanoid entity just hanging out with me. I couldn't see him but I knew he was there. Absolutely no fear attached to this being. I actually missed him when he was no longer around.
Most of the activity came at the REM state between waking and deep sleep. I would close my eyes and get on the sleep train, yet have an awareness of my surroundings in my home. At no time did I see an actual Alien in my house, it was that I was conscious of these beings in different layers of my psyche. One night there were lights flashing on and off and a being came into my room bearing a box like one of those light boxes that people afflicted with Seasonal Affective Disorder use, only this one was laughter. A box of laughter.
A few nights later I was awakened by the presence of an entity (youngish humanoid male, short spiky blond hair) who was not two feet from my face. Very pushy guy. He seemed familiar to me. I laughingly told him he was way too close and to back off. He did. Next night there was a cluster of blue lights in the corner of the room in the shape of the Pleiades Constellation. Those light would send a pulse that stimulated the acupressure point just under my collarbone. This happened several times and each time I expressed gratitude.
I also became aware at this time of a group of humans, whom I think were in their dream bodies, who were aboard a starship and who wanted me to join them. They were of mixed races and ethnicities, in their 20's and 30's and dressed in marital arts style uniforms. At one point they were arguing with each other as to whether or not I was "ready".
It all came to a head one night. Entities and star ship humans just carrying on like nobody's business. Sleep was impossible for me. I finally blew a toot on my "psychic police whistle" and told them all to "Cool it! I have to live on this planet!"
But that certainly was no the end of it. When the comet Hale-Bopp approached there were some on the web who thought they could see a spaceship tagging along with it. I looked at the photos and it just seemed like a light reflection. On the night when there was an eclipse of the moon in conjunction with the comet I was awakened at 4 am by an awful grinding clanking sound outside my cabin. By awakened I mean I was in a state that I have never been in before or since. Like everything was shifted just one degree off "normal" reality. A radiant blue light streamed into my room coupled with an hypnotic pulling, something wanted me to come out, come out. I turned my back on that sucker and said NO. I came into "normal" consciousness and had to run to the bathroom to pee and all I could think of was "why do they have to be so creepy?" I later recounted this to a friend and she told me that another friend of hers had had the same experience at the same time as myself. What she did was to laugh at them and say "Is that the best you can do?" This was the same weekend the Heaven's Gate folks committed suicide in the hopes of being taken up by a spaceship. I was told later that this ship was traveling through looking for humans who wanted to get away. They tuned into me because of my interest in UFOs. I also heard that he Heaven's Gate people got into a situation with the Aliens that they didn't expect or find happiness with. I send them love and positive energy.
After that I began using a grounding stone. A small stone that I picked up at the beach that is smooth and very dense. I would literally place it on my chest or hold it in my hand while sleeping. I also began doing a ritual before bed of linking my energy with that of Mother Earth.
Due to financial considerations I had to move from Marin to Santa Rosa. things quieted down after that except for one night when I kept being jolted awake by something impossibly alien coming closer and closer. I was fully awakened by the sound of a mechanical voice at the window right next to my bed saying "Josephine". That totally freaked me out, I jumped ut of bed a got a glass of water and when I returned to be my kitty laid right there beside me, between me and the window, like a guardian.
TWO DREAMS
I enter my cabin and am surprised to see a man dressed in a brown uniform, fixing the water heater. I don't like him being there and order him out. He slowly walks to the door as I keep demanding that he go. He turns, and now he is a tall hairy humanoid alien. He and I make eye contact and he stands there, like he's daring me to make him leave. I grab a handy bowie knife and brandish it, saying " Do you want to see what it's like to be cut open, like you do with humans?" He exits. Only the next thing I know, I'm outside! Where THEY are! A voice says "Where do you want to be?" I think, back in my safe home, and bada bing, I'm back in my living room and the voice says "See how easy it is?"
--------------------------------
I am walking and holding hands with a woman. She is a bit shorter than I am, her hair is auburn and cut short in interesting angles. We are "sky clad." We go to her bed and she lies on top of me in an intimate, non sexual way. It reminds me of how Bette Midler used to introduce the Harlettes :"These girls have just come from the amusement park, where they are one of the rides!" I am in a normal dream state. The woman lifts her head and looks me straight in the eyes and I am popped into complete lucidity. Her eyes are golden, no white, and stretch from the nose to the temple. At the turn there is a S shape, like the musical notation. (I have read that beings from the Pleiades have such eyes) She then gives me the WICKEDEST laugh you could ever imagine! She puts her head back down and I return to the normal dream state.
CAUTIONARIES
If you are out, by yourself, or with friends, and see strange lights which you think might be UFOs, don't get cute and wave to them to come on over. unless you want them to, because they will come.
If, in a dream, you are tempted to get on an escalator or elevator, maybe pass on it and do something else. Being "pulled up" by something mechanical is a sure sign you are being drawn up by a UFO.
ANECDOTE (testimonial from the web) : An engineer was learning how to have out of body experiences. One night he was able to leave his body and float up to the ceiling. He went through it, then through the roof and then bumped into something metallic, and went through that. Well! Lo and behold, he's now on the bridge on a UFO and the alien at the controls glares at him with an annoyed expression of "Why don't you watch where you're going!"
Remember, when it comes to Humans and Extraterrestrials, the Human is ALWAYS in charge. It is only our fear that causes us to behave like sheep. (apologies to Pretend Farmer)
Back in the late 50's there was a humorous song on the radio about a UFO landing. A reporter would question the ETs and they would respond with snippets from current popular songs. The very last line of this piece was:
LOOK TO THE SKIES, THE SAUCERS WILL AWAYS BE THERE
MAY ALL BEINGS BE HAPPY!

skullduggery, no matter which party is in power.
Consciousness is indeed a strange, shifting, multi
layered thing, just below the surface.
Did you bring that very excellent west Marin dope with you to SR?
Just sayin' . . . I live in Marin half the week, Tahoe the other...
Either you or the aliens are on to this, hence their portentious presence there and following you to SR?
I have not had the pleasure of their visitation as of yet, but ya never know. I am not a disbeliever, that's for sure.
Loved your post!
I will be in Tahoe for Halloween taking my 19 month grandson for his first trick or treating outing! Can't wait! Will sadly miss the Hallowed events back in the Bay.
However, besides being my usual crazy self, I generally feel quite normal and happy. So maybe I met a good batch.
I have it with sleep paralysis some nights. It's been a while, but always scares the crap out of me when it happens. Mine doesn't focus on aliens, but on a female ghost that has *knock on wood* been gone since the last time when I passed through her and merged with her. She laughs that laugh and her eyes are entirely black with no iris, pupil or white part to it. I seize up and am unable to move in any dream she comes into except the last one.
My first hypnagogic dream was one in which my furniture flew all around my room and ended in orgasm :) I was 15 or so, so that makes sense. No ghost back then.
A part of me strongly believes that we've already made some sort of contact. But that we're as important to them as ants are to us. Which is to say, yikes, probably shouldn't talk about that anymore.
Your ironic accounts of third encounters were quite amusing, and I'm glad that I read them. Then I got truly interested when you mentioned that Californian cult during the time of the comet who comitted mass and simultaneous suicide, which, you have to admit, is indeed creepy.
Why do people have these "perceptions?" I cannot say. Either alien beings exits elsewhere, outside of Earth's atmosphere, or they do not exist. But, supposing that they do. Just suppose this for one small moment. Then one must ask oneself, "Are these beings going to be benign, or are they going to be in some way carnivorous?" Well, again, who can say?
Carl Jung, the famed psychiatrist, wrote an essay about this very matter back in the late 50s (and by the way, you are four years older than I am; we must have seen many of the same science-fiction movies as children). I found a volume of the good doctor's case studies at St. Vincent de Paul center long ago and, having read "Man & His Symbols," I quite naturally snatched this book out from the cramped bookshelf.
