Bio
(aka Josephine Elizabeth Ortez, Josie Ortez) I am 61 years young, a performance artist, writer and painter (oils) I live with my Dalmatian doggie 3 cats and 2 goldfish. I am happy despite my best efforts to the contrary. I am of Native American, Mexican, German, Irish English ethnicity. A DAKINI is a semi wrathful spirit woman from the Tibetan Buddhism tradition who manifests in dreams, visions and during meditation. She is the Goddess of Life's turning points, serving as instigator, inspirer, messenger and even trickster. She transmutes suffering into enlightened awareness. She is often depicted as a young naked figure in dancing pose often holding a skull cup of the Elixir of Life in one hand and a curved knife in the other. She may wear a garland of human skulls, her hair is wild and hangs down her back. She dances on top of a corpse, representing her mastery over ego and ignorance. MAY ALL BEINGS BE HAPPY!

More FRIDA (Youtube)

I love this video. I am especially intrigued by the last bit. I think the
young lady in it  is Arija Muray, the daughter of Nicolas Muray, a
paramour of Frida's. However, I'm not sure. To me, the young lady
in the video looks like a ghost, and in truth, Arija Muray died at
the age of 19. She and Frida were very close.

Thanks for coming by SeattleK8 and deloresflores_d
Oh my. This is a wonderful little video. I loved her lying in bed, looking at the book? journal? glimpse of pages, then her holding the book to heart, her hands covered in rings. Thanks.
kestralwing: Yeah. That was touching, wasn't it. Thanks
Gee, stunned am I by her beauty.
Do share her some more, my dear. I feel weird here.
I am gettin shivers from being cold and thinking about the images.
I hope you share more of her, too. I saw the movie, but remember so little, and that was Hollywood's version, which is always kinda off.
have you taken any pictures of your oils? can we see them?
Umbrellakinesis, Frida was beautiful, and she refused to
shave her moustache or unibrow.

suzyishere: think warm thoughts, Frida was
hot hot hot!

and Hyblaean: if I get it together I'll put up a photo
of a painting. Thank you for asking.

Anything else I come across, I'll certainly post.
Great video, love the music and the film was phenomenal. Miss Hayek really showed her talent from all angles in that film...

So beautiful. Thanks for posting this. I saw Frida's work last spring when the Philadelphia Museum of Art had a show of her work. It was the most profound and moving experience I ever had viewing an artist's work. She was so powerful as a painter and a spirit, it felt like she was there in the gallery with everyone.
Thank you for putting this up, it was terrific. Why did Arija die at 19, do you know? The blonde man on whose lap she sat was Nicola?. This was so good!! what a life.......
Thank you Greg.
Scruffus: I bet her spirit really was there in that gallery!
Ariana: The book (I Will Never Forget You Frida Kahlo and Nickolas Muray) I have
just says that she went to Vera Cruz, got feverish, was flown to New York and a
hospital for tests but died 2 days later.
I have always just been enthralled with Frida - the person, her art, her story. I suspect you are right in this the young woman at the end is Arija Murray. The only pictures of her I remember show a very fair skinned dark haired girl (which looked a great deal like me at that age). The facial shape and features are very similar to Arija's and the two were supposed to be very close.

Thank you so much for posting this.
