Ask Mr. Knownot About the 2012 Elections
By Daniel Rigney
Once again my imaginary electronic mailbag is overflowing with questions for Mr. Knownot – this time, regarding the 2012 American elections. I’m sorry I can’t answer all of your queries, but here are a few of my favorites:
Have conservatives had a fresh idea since Barry Goldwater ran for president?
Not that I know of.
What has Mitt Romney’s federal tax rate been in recent years, and how does it compare with the average tax rates of other Americans?
We don’t really know.
Now that unlimited secret contributions to super PACS are legal under the Supreme Court’s decision in the case of Citizens United, who will be the next president of the United States?
I’m not sure the Koch brothers have decided yet.
Have you announced yet the winner of the New U.S. Motto contest?
Yes. According to a secret ballot recently conducted among anonymous participants, the winner is “Money Talks,” submitted by Antonin Scalia. First runner-up: “It’s Everyone for Himself,” submitted by the Libertarian Party.
Is the United States a democratic republic or a plutocracy?
That’s a good question.
