About climate change, the Holocaust, and a river in Egypt
I'm rather proud of this one, actually:
A skeptic is someone who is dubious of a claim, but is willing
to be persuaded by sufficient evidence. A denier is someone who
will never be persuaded by any amount of evidence. There's precious
little skepticism with regards to climate change these days,

Schumer and "bitch" -- on words, and the meanings of words
Most of my writing these days is scientific, and in scientific writing, and academic writing generally, we try to be as detached as possible. To whom it may concern:
The new design is cluttered, and it's very buggy on Firefox and
SeaMonkey. A site that doesn't work well with the Gecko rendering
engine isn't much use to a large portion of the Web-browsing
population! Looking at the page… Read full post »
Why I am a partisan Democrat
Glenn Greenwald does a beautiful job here of explaining why "partisanship" can be a good thing and "bipartisan" isn't all it's cracked up to be. The key paragraph:
Partisan disputes happen because people are very different and have very different views. Partisanship is about advocating for your ow… Read full post »
