I have a love/hate relationship with snark communities. I think they bring out the worst in most people (myself included), but I can't help but enjoy the sarcasm and biting wit. It reminds me *so much* of my sister (who passed away a long time ago, who I miss terribly). A lot of our interactions with one another were snark-centric. She snarked me. I *tried* to snark her back (but usually failed because I just wasn't as smart or quick as she was). It was our language, our way of being with one another.
She could call me out like nobody else I've ever known. She could cut straight to the heart of me and make me bleed out on the floor. She knew how to deliver swift, painful kicks to my astral gonads.
I loved it. Masochistic, maybe, but I loved it. Loved that someone on the planet knew me so intimately that they could rip me open like that.
Snark communities remind me of her, and feel very homey to me. Even when I give myself migraines from giggling so hard over the ridonkulousness of what I'm reading. Even when I'm mostly just rolling my eyes and holding my sides. I wonder, while I'm reading, how Julie would respond. What would Julie do? WWJD? Bwahahaha.
Happiness is a good snark, even if it is a guilty, guilty pleasure.

I was actually talking about snark comma on LJ, but I can see that I didn't make that clear. I'll fix it in the morning when I'm not trying to type on my wee iPod. :)
