We don't read and write poetry because it's cute.  We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race.  And the human race is filled with passion.  And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life.  But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.                      from Dead Poet's Society

Another week of great poetry by some familiar poets and some new ones.  The Renga is now up to 112 verses and going strong.  Enjoy.

Thanks, Dave. You're the best. :)
Thanks, Dave. Another great list of poetry to enjoy on a cold, wintry Saturday in January. Much appreciation for the recognition. You're the best. Enjoy the weekend. R
We are in your debt, Dave. r.
Dave, as always, my thanks for this thankless job.
I would do a cheerleader cheer here but OS might shut down from the shaking.

Thanks, Dave. Your generosity exceeds my talent.
I love that you included a quote from "Dead Poets' Society" at te beginning. I wouldlove to see one on poetry every week and wouldn't even mind volunteering to be among those who search for them, Dave.

Once again, thank you for your work.
I just love Dead Poet's Society...great week of poetry, once again! xox
You perform a very important service for those who love poetry at OS. Thank you.
What a delight to wake up to every Saturday. No matter how hard I try to search out poetry, there are always a few that I miss.
Thank you for all your work to compile this.

Recall how Sgt Pepper did`
He yelled if shoes were muddy`
LT. sneezed on all blind dates.
He could not see and jest dust.
He used a feather duster to mop.
In the Army blind vets dust nudes.
What else can a GI do post warfare?
The bling GI say`

She in a towel.
She answer call.
She was said to.
Knock on Sara P?
No thanks. Oho.

Dave, you're a good man.
Oh I love the quote from 'Dead Poet's Society'!

But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. ... sigh!

And, Dave, thank you again for your wonderful contribution here.
I'm going to have to produce some poetry if I'm going to get on your list! Writing prose is hard enough, but writing poetry REALLY uses brain cells! :)
Dave -

If I wore a hat, I'd tip it to you.
If I wore a skirt, I'd curtsey to you.
If I had a soul, I'd bear it to you.
If I had a dime, I'd give it to you.
If I had a drink, I'd toast to you.
If I had a first born male child, I would offer him to you.
(Well, maybe that's taking it too far!)
All but the last, I have.
And all I would gladly give to you.
All and more to say,
You brighten this cherished writing space
Each and every day.
The poetry you inspire to fill this place.

Many thanks to you, Dave.
Great list!

I think the way to get the Ed I Tor's attention is send her on vacation again and get one of your old army buddies in there!!! ;D
