I'm a filmmaker (director and mostly editor by trade, writer by night-trade), I currently live in New York and love it hopelessly. Even at it's worst it is beautiful and is always worthy of filming.

Some Nutty Artwork!

Rate: 12 Flag

Okay! So here are some more bizarre drawings I made, that I then scanned and did color stuff to in Photoshop. I am having way too much fun with this.

This one is called "The Beginning Of the War"

Beginning Of the War

It's interesting to go back and look at the original black and white drawing in my sktetch book, after doing all this stuff to it, because it's a completely different vibe. With this one, the mood that I always imagined being there in the black and white I was able to really get once I managed to make the background in a cool looking way.

Chess Game 1

This one is just plain silly. I never knew for sure if I liked it but I think I do now that it's even stranger than it was as a sketch.

Shy Mannequin In Space

This one I call "Humans of the deep."

Toothache I

This one is called Toothache, because it expressed my state of ache at the time of drawing, immediately after an emergency root canal!!!!!

By the way, this is not writing! :)
I like your drawings--especially the second to last one. You could read so much into it. It's a couple on a blind date in a cafe. They don't have much to talk about so the bald guy is thinking about how he is going to impress the woman somehow. The relationship will never work.
These are great, David, even better than the last batch. I love them.

You've really got something here. Thumbed.
Thank you!

Joan K, I think it's awesome that you interpreted that picture like that, I would have NEVER thought about that!!!! :)

I just seriously overused the word that.
I like the "attitude" of your work! Check out aoacollective.com. I think you might find some kindred spirits there! Writers and artists (of which I am both), need to help each other out! Also, check out thewhole9.com
Thanks Cartouche!!!! I will go check it out now!
"Have I told you lately, that I love you?" - Rod Stewart :0D

Man, not some of the better lyrics ever written Dave, but you make my ass LAUGH!

That's some serious artwork bro. Number 2 (no, not the bodily function) is my favorite. I love the rich navy/purple used.

Thank you Greg!!!

The bodily function No. 2 has been used in art too once, I think Guiliani once went on a crusade against some art they put in the Brooklyn Museum that involved dried elephant feces and the cross, something odd like that. Hey, whatever tickles one's fancy!
Hey!!!!! David! Too much fun is good! Especially in your case.
they do seem to evoke states of mind!
By the way, I love your drawings! Especially love the woman with the long tongue, the toothache you, and Humans of the deep. But really, I loved them all.
What!?

Not writing!?

Surely this does not belong in a blog.

;-)

You are delightfully talented and twisted. It's wonderful how your poetry and your drawings intersect to create a skewed wonderland of weird.
You can come draw stuff for me, anytime. These are very, very cool!
These are wonderful. Thank you for posting them.
Whoa, Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, and Paul Klee have a meeting in David's notebook. I like these.
Excellent! I especially like the 2nd picture. It reminds me of a dream I once had. Fascinating... :)
Thanks everyone! I'm so glad you enjoyed them. And Verbal Remedy, I love the Wonderland of Weird!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE it!!!!
Toothache is phenomenal

And I rarely resort to writing
Thank you Caruso!!!!!!
