I've recently changed the last letter in my state.. from J to C. Which I must say I LOVE! Everything here is incredibly beautiful. This time of year through May, we have all the songbirds come through our back yard. The sound in the morning is like an orchestra warming up before they play. Then when the sun is up full blast they sing all day long until late in the evening. I'd love to try to tape it someday and save it to share with people that might also enjoy it.
We brought with us my two lovely pussycats
Rudy, who is constantly forced against his will to sit on my lap at all times...this is meaning the minute my butt hits any seat... and by this I do mean ANY seat...yes including that one. (and yes, he's on my lap as I write this)

You can see him here suffering through the torture of being forced to perch on my leg...his..."least" favorite spot to be..

Fred is my adventurous one.
He loves to be outdoors and we can only drag him in when it's raining or now when it's cold. He prefers to be outside sleeping in the tiger lilies or on top of our cars.
This is my Sheltie Jojo

When we first got to the house after driving 500 miles (with frequent doggy and human stops :) ) We took her out of the car and she promptly jumped back in and hid in the backseat behind all the stuff as if to say..” Take my butt back to Jersey!"
I am happy to say it didn't take her but a few days to love her new backyard though

After about a year a neighbor’s kitten adopted us. She just popped out of the bushes in the back yard. We brought her in, she approved and promptly took over the entire house.

We named her Snooka, after Jimmy "Superfly" Snooka the wrestler. Her signature move would be to pounce on you from across the bed, much like Superfly from off the ropes.

Now Ms Snooka busted out of the house before we could get her spayed and gave us four pretty babies which you can watch playing in the video below.
We kept one, gave one to a friend at work and my mom took two. The one we kept was so forward about everything she did, my son made the comment she was "vicious” after many failed names...we called her Sid (Sidney) Vicious.. but we mostly call her Sid.

She is a mini me of her mom and now even though she's only 4 month in Nov, she's almost the same size as her and sometimes we have a hard time telling them apart.
We also are the parents of 3 chickens that I hand raised from chicks.

Penny

Ginger

Dolly
And that concludes my animal family for at least the moment. ;)

The best part of this entire post is listening to you laugh in the video--absolutely delightful! OK, my techy husband needs to know how you added captions to the video?!? We've never seen that done before. We're primarily still photographers and only dabble in video. The captions are a hoot! Our favorite was the "I've got you now, Mwahaha!" one.
Wonderful!
Let me know when you post more! Paws up!
I love to share my pets photos.
The captions are a youtube option. When you upload a video there it lets you add "Annotations", which are the little captions (I discovered them by accident, I had no idea what it was at first).
I had wanted my son to do voice over's with me, but he's shy and I couldn't get him too. I'm glad the little captions still did the trick :D
I'll gladly let you know when I've got more up. They're an endless source of photo opportunities and giggles.
I was laughing so hard because they were just being their kitten selves and thinking my mom is taking 2! LOL
She did call after having them a few days to tell me of their kitten antics :P Hanging from the bottom of her bird cage (her currant cat never noticed it was even there) and their general hell raising, causing my dad to holler to her in the bath tub " You better come get these babies, there ripping around the whole house!" and then wondering how the heck I managed with four of the little suckers.
I missed them all when they were gone though, as the house was so quiet. My other cats are older and only rip around in the mornings and the kitten we kept, just walked around crying for her sisters.
She is well adjusted now though and does the work of 4 kittens with the aid of her mom. :D
I'm glad your baby isn't having to to be a lonely kitten anymore. Sounds like she and her mama aren't far apart in age, so I guess that helps. And your dad cracked me up--Come get these babies! ;)
We can't understand how such a tiny graceful creature, can sound like a full blown heard of horses though the floor/ceiling!
When ever my older boys get their "kitten on" they crack me up,because it does look extra silly. Of course if you catch them...they walk away with the "you saw nothing" look on their faces. :P
That thundering herd sound must be universal with kitties. We call it thunderpaws, or oliphants. Amazing how much noise they can make on a wood floor! I tell them all the time, "Aren't you supposed to be graceful and delicate?!" :D
I love that look. It's almost like walking in on two teenagers making out--they immediately back away from each other, and walk away with that "who, us? we weren't doing nothing, nope nope nope" look. Hysterical. :)
