Does anyone else shudder at the fact that the government wants to nationalize the banks? I mean really, they can't even run the government's money right and now they want to try to take care of mine?
The promise that once things get on their feet, they'll let the banks run their own show doesn't seem to hold water with me either.
I tend to think most of the problem is that all the regular people are being taught that the first step to getting out of debt is not to make more debt.
Yet the banks all started making more debt, by buying other banks, oh and making sure they spent bail out money on naming stadiums in NY, cause you know they couldn't have run without that. Giving raises and better benefits to employees, etc. To me, they should have SAVED the money to keep themselves afloat while everything was going crazy. I mean isn't that what they tell us to do?
The government keeps coming up with these bail out and cash incentives that WE have to pay for and I really don't see why they keep putting more and more debt on an already failing system?
Now the car companies say...Opps! We've messed up and we need another $5 billion to stay a float. Um. Could that be why you're in such a financial mess? I mean, if no one noticed a $ 5 BILLION dollar mistake, couldn't be part of the problem there right?
I mean it's just so easy to take the money from us, the people supporting the country. The little guy that doesn't count unless someone wants something from us.
Oh but we'll get $15.00 a week more in out pay check due to the new tax break. Whoopdee freaking doo! Now I can make my car payment!
You can't keep just printing money with nothing to back it up and just flipping numbers from one account to the next with there being no real actual dollars there to support it.
Let's be honest. The system is failed and it should be allowed to fall so we can rebuild it from the ground up. It's painful but it's true. It will wipe the slate clean, like it's done before and we'll all start on the same field and get a chance to change the way things are.
I for one think that people are strong and will find a way to keep on going. We've just gotten lazy, because we haven't actually had to do anything for such a long time, but spin on the well and push the skinner bar for our pellet.
Now everything is changing and change is uncomfortable. But if we look back and review our history, see how those before us have survived so that we can be where we are now. We may just learn something about ourselves along the way. I mean they're always telling you in school, you need to learn history, so you won't be doomed to repeat it.
Looks like there are some people higher up, that didn't get that lesson.
