It's gray, it's cold, it's February. When I woke up this morning, inexplicably an hour before the alarm was due to go off, after running through some nagging kid worries, all I could think was "Blah." I feel like a blown tire. By this time winter has just about finished me off.
Growing up in Illinois I learned to suffer through the winters by keeping my eye on the carrot of a long hot summer dangling ahead. Not so here in England where in some years summer never arrives. Oh sure, the temperatures get up into the fifties and sixties and some days it doesn't rain but.....
I admit that on days when it is sunny and warm here with the flowers in abundant bloom, this is a beautiful country. I grab those occasional gems and store them away.
Back to February. Woke up feeling blue, Valentine's Day looming, all that jazz, then behold, I found that while I slept someone had made me a favorite on Open Salon and it all seemed a little less bleak.
Open Salon, sometimes you're a life saver. Today, Wintergreen.

Lorianne--We can dream!
I'm intrigued by the fact that you're an American living in the UK (my heart lives in Scotland)...but I digress...I love the pineapple ones.
Yeah, I'm an import here, all the fault of an English husband and I agree that Scotland is a good place for the heart to reside. Thanks for reading.
