Rate: 6 Flag

Do I call him, will he think I'm forward, it's late after all...what to do, what to do...hang it all! I guess I will have to hang it all, literally...it's all over the room and must dry out before tomorrow. Would you call him, would you?

Okay, I'll give the poor man a break. I will call him in the morning!
Good night!

I've had the belt break...I've hung it all...hang in there!
I hung my laundry for years, living in bush Alaska. I feel decadent every time I use my dryer!
Not decadent tonight, Ralph! With 7 of us here, there is LOTS of laundry left to do and school uniforms to dry before tomorrow! Bleh!
We lived in the country and used a cloths line for ten years. Saved a lot of money on electricity. But with seven head, I would use the dryer if possible. Call him!!
R~
Reminds me of the time right after my ex and I had bought the farm all it had on it was a rundown 2 story farmhouse. The only heat it had was a wood burning stove in the LR, anyway my wife called me on my way to the airport in St. Louis to tell me that the dryer was broke and I need to get it fixed immediately, I told I would call someone later and she said NOW it's cold in the kitchen and I am freezing. I didn't know it but she had taken the vent duct loose and ran it to the kitchen so when she got up in the morning her feet would stay warm. I fixed the dryer and had an electric baseboard heat installed that day. You women are always thinking!
I love the scent of fresh air on laundry dried on a line. But in winter that's not possible. So I hang it in the basement now.
We used to when I was a child. But I live now in a town which full of the following: people whose IQ's aren't as high as that of an onion, Republicans and they ALL use pesticides and Herbicides that smell worse than the Hippo House at the Zoo and they cause me wife asthma, so we are going to move to the desert or the woods far away from stupid morons and Republicans. Problem is the Republicans live in all the states with deserts and woods.
I love a guy thats transcended Laundry. Mr. B. I can hardly smell ye.
Proff Emerits...simmer down
Hum clothes hanging around only adds to the dampness, but they will dry like stiff boards over night. What can you do? God bless all of your children, I don't need to ask if your busy do I?
Mom, It is ALWAYS busy here in our house, thanks for not asking! ;)
UPDATE:
After much deliberation, my dear Edo said, "Just go to Lowe's and buy a new set."
I am now the proud owner of a new washer and dryer that WORKS!!!
(thank goodness for zero percent interest at Lowes!)
Congrats, Deb...Enjoy the new "set!"
Thanks, Mary Ann! I love the new washer and dryer, we've had it for a week now, and I still like to sit in front of it for the first minute to watch it fill. I just may bring a chair down into the basement!
(doesn't take much to entertain me!)
Just had my new washer-- (well only a year and a half old Maytag -- leak oil and I did call HIM because I bought an extended guarantee and it took a week for him to come, and it meant going to the less than clean local laundramat and do you know it costs $2.00 for a small washer load -- WOE, WOE-- POOR ME. To shorten this sad tale -- it was the transmission. Never had one call on my old Maytag --- for over 15 years. As for all the comments on drying outside -- yes, do smell great but feel like cardboard sometimes. And my son washed his bicycle stuff by hand and learned for the first time what it meant to be a woman down by the river before washers were invented. Hope it is fixed -- with a big family -- you don't want to be hanging that much wash.
Gal80,
Ed said Go ahead and buy a new washer and dryer. I'm glad I did, it would've been at least a $300 visit for the repair. Besides, I know we got full use and then some out of the 9 year old set. I figure we did about 3,000+ loads of laundry with those.
Hope you are doing well!
