Oscillating I

Rate: 11 Flag

Eyes awoke this morning, full of life.

Moving, east and west, eastandwest, eastwest.

I had woken during a REM cycle and was conscious only of this movement.

Feel it, the two fingers of my left hand reach up to gently rest on my left eye.

I can feel the gentle shift, shift, shift, then, stop.

Reach up my right two fingers to set on the right eye, then, shift, shift, stop.

Eyes halt, I rest.

Eye, I.

I.

After I read this I thought wow that sounds wild, I'll have to try it. Then I thought how will I know when? Your scrambling my brain way to early. Fascinating description, I like it Deb. I can also envision (did I just make a pun) me trying this and Michelle saying "what the hell are you doing, stop it!" Very nice.....o/e
yeah, o/e, it was weird! i was only conscious of the eye movement, and then that i had to write about it. of course, all the great words that were swirling around my rem brain were lost by the time i got to my computer.
ed thinks it/i was/am pretty weird, too, and says, i guess i just don't get poetry.
thanks!
I don't like when I wake from that cycle...very interesting dream view to waking...
Interesting, but mind-bending: I, aye, aye, aye, aye.
eye-opening. I woke up a couple of times during the night and each time was aware of my dream -- not my eyeball movement. But at the moment I recall nothing. Nada. Zilch. Your poem made me remember that I had dreamed, though.
I love it. Oh, can I get one of those Ed Hardy bikinis too?
Oh my. It seems I'm either fully awake, easily awakened, or asleep. But to "wake" and be conscious that you are in REM... surreal, to say the least.
I have never experience that. It sounds a little weird, but what do I know. I would kill for a good nights sleep!
Scanner,
this winter i am soaking up lots of sleep, pretty great after several years of horrible, torturous nights with minimal sleep. i put up some heavy curtains and made my room really dark, it helps, and, i got rid of the cpap, that didn't really work for me. i know what you are going through.
ooooh...I've had that happen...xox
thanks, Robin, it really is strange. we are wonderfully made, that's for sure.
Such awareness --- I've never awakened in Rem -- always have some dream that I can't finish and want to and then can't remember. Eye to eye -- must mean something important. I like the line "full of life."
Thanks for the comment, Gal80!
Yes, it was a very strange experience, one I'd never had before.
Hope you are having a good start to 2010!
Wow, this would actually be great for meditation as well! Loved it!
