Have you heard the one about...?

You know the line; you've heard it either directly or indirectly...perhaps you even heard it as a 'pick-up' line! But, it's no joke...we all start getting older the minute we're born. I like the say: this is a dangerous thing we, this living thing...none of us are getting out of here alive!?!

But, seriously, folks...why is it that there's so many 'jokes' about women aging, so few about men? Why is an 'old maid' so much worse than an 'old man'? Why do women face agism more than men? Inquiring minds want to know...

Sex and sexuality is also something that is sexist...at any age...but, speaking in terms of the Juicy Crone herself...I'm only getting better with age! Like a vintage wine, this Crone has improved in almost everyway.

It's also true that youth is wasted on the young. Sadly, a group of teenagers were out joy-riding (interesting term, that) in a big SUV not far from the nation's capitol and now two of them are in serious condition and a young woman of barely 15 will never see her sweet-16th. So sad, but that is life; unpredictable at best, deadly at its worse. She'll never know what it's like to grow old...and to see whether she too was capable of improving with age.

The lesson that I take from this observation is that life is ALWAYS too short; know of us know how long we'll live for and no one gets 'd0-overs'. So, live and learn until you don't anymore...that's the name of the game! And, continue to sow your 'wild oats' until the proverbial cows come home...and never, ever let someone else tell you that you're 'too old' to try something new!
