My son's version of me with no make-up

Rate: 21 Flag

Here is my son's version of me with no make-up, which is me most of the time. I'm by our back door, just in from outside in the garden, too much sun. He graciously pixilated this a bit to hide the truth. But, whatever, it's okay. This is me at 51.

You have a beautiful smile. awwwwwwww
Your son has seen that smile so many times, and he loves it.
You certainly seem to radiate.
Well, that's true. I was smiling at him.
Really Beth?

I am mortified, but I thought it was time for a non-gorgeous, young woman to post her picture. And I had my son help me with it.

And I won't take this down. I'm trying to be very brave for my age.

:-)
Non-gorgeous?
It just looks like you're blushing with your glasses off!

You're splendiferous!

(thumbified. we'll have to wait for someone non-gorgeous to post because this ain't it.)
No, no, no. You're doing this all wrong. You're supposed to put up an unflattering picture.
splendiferous is the correct word to use here
You look so Happy and so pretty :)

peece,
dj
As adorable as you could possibly be!!!!
Oh.My.Gawd! You are so above average! :-)
Great shot. Great son.
Geeze. Thanks y'all. I wanted to be the break-out old plain picture.

James is 18 and he loves his mother. You know, it really matters who you are photographed by...

I like no makeup. IF You're not cute? What are you?
But, you're
real cute.
You eat devil's food? You act a tiny bit like a devil cake?
I bet you don't have a tattoo. But, don't tell AOS where?
You smile

Thanks RonP01;

I'm sitting here with my 18 year old and he said, "why did you post that one, the one where you have no eyes?"

d
I loved what you did, you're absolutely gorgeous, don't tell yourself otherwise. If only more of us were brave enough to show our true faces--just in case folks get me wrong, I'm not referring to avatars.
Thanks scupper and Newton-- it was brave, particularly 'cause it was right after the "fat" post!

d
Which proves you're well and truly recovered.
yeahhh, what Jodi Kasten said!

and hay, I'm gonna be 50 in about 5 minutes, so yer not alone in the age-group thing! brave 50ish makeupless chicks unite!
Cheers and congrats. HB
Cindy you are so smart, I think you are bar none the smartest, wittiest person on OS. Thanks HB -- I loved your pic you know.
You look fabulous here.

(And tell hubby to shove it next time he calls you fat, because you most certainly aren't.)
Well, Lee, you don't see me naked (and NO I'm not answering that challenge if there is one) and that's where the rubber meets the road, so to speak.

:-)

d
Great smile - cute hair- you're fab!
Your son knows you are beautiful, he shows us now!
JustJuli and Buffy -- women rock as support, you know?

Thanks.
You are beautiful and the generosity and sweetness of who you are reaches out beyond the screen!
Thank you cart!
A child that will now come to Sri Lanka!! Next summer sound good?

xox

I think you're beautiful!
As I said Shivan, I really like you.
Sorry, Shivaun.

A Gaelic name but in the Indian tradition...

:-)
I wish I looked this good without makeup. My eyes tend to disappear unless I have a good tan.
That's what my mother says: her eye have disappeared so much that she doesn't recognize herself. Mine have too, on top of having white eyelashes and eyebrows, which makes them fade even more. I don't know what you look like emma, but you know I'd think you were beautiful.
LOL on the spelling - actually a pretty cool association. My parents Anglicized the spelling since they were raising me in the Southwest. I use the Gaelic spelling with an extra n - siobhann - both as my ID here and my screen name on reddit...
What does the extra "n" mean? Anything?

My name, spelled with three "e"s and no "i"s isn't significant other than my mother (adoptive) gave me the spelling, and my dad give me the name. I like it.
