A Little Writer Humor

Rate: 9 Flag

In addition to spending way too much time on OS, I also have a problem with author and agent blogs. Constantly scanning, looking for the secret to writing and publishing success. Anyway, I was reading Editorial Ass's blog (the blog title sort of vents the frustration of all published and unpublished writers) and found a link to this video by mystery author, Parnell Hall. It's hilarious. Any writer, author or aspiring author can relate. It's a published author's worst nightmare--the equivalent to the one where you realize you're in a room full of people and you're the only one who's naked. But, then again, maybe that wouldn't be so bad. At least you'd attract some attention.

Giggling first thing in the morning. Thanks_r
Cute. I only wish to have that problem. Thanks for the laugh.
:)
Nice piece..
I always marvel at one Stephenie Meyers of the Twilight series.
The Mormon church got it published for her..taking a cut of course.
That is never publicized very much:)
Rated with hugs and a giggle or two.
Joan, glad to oblige.

readwillett, I hear ya.

LCNeal, exactly!

Linda, you've commented on this before. But I'm afraid that's a false rumor that somehow got started and refuses to die. Ms. Myers went the traditional route, submitting her manuscript to agencies and got extremely lucky finding a fan at Writers House, a well-known and well-respected agency in New York. Her agent is Jodi Reamer. The Mormon church had nothing to do with her getting published. If she decided to donate some of her royalties to the church after the fact, well that's another matter. Something I have no knowledge of. Thanks for reading.
lololol that video went well with my coffee!! thanks, Densie~
Too much! R

I don't have his troubles since I've never published anything.
That is funny! Poor guy -- poor anybody -- seated next to Mary Higgins Clark!
Yeah I guess that is a bit of a nightmare for the writer. For me , it was funny. Thanks
