Today is my b'day. I try to ignore it these days. But, thought I'd use this opportunity to check in. I've discovered I just can't do it all. I've been busy. When it rains, it pours, and all that.
A work project came in. They wanted it yesterday, of course. Worked all weekend. Not complaining. Just stating facts.
I formatted the files for my book, The Cure--you know, the one I've been talking about for months, before submitting to CreateSpace for self-publication. (A migraine-inducing experience.) Then the proof came in. I had to proofread that, make corrections and resubmit the newly formatted files and request a second proof copy. Hoping to have it up on Amazon by the end of the week.
My son is still having issues with passing his courses at junior college. Just hired a tutor to, hopefully, help him pass. Not sure where that money is coming from.
My daughter returns Friday from a month-long trip overseas visiting family. I leave on Sunday for a quick overnight trip to Chicago to, hopefully, pick up some more work.
In between all that I did manage to treat myself to a trip to the IMAX theater to see Eclipse. You know, my vampire fetish and all. I left this earth for a full two hours. Fun stuff.
I've been writing more on my other blog, wordforward, which is, well, about writing. My OS posts take more thought and so I haven't been around. I haven't even logged on, but once or twice, since I know once I get started reading, it's impossible to stop. I'm hoping that once the book is done, the project is turned in, my daughter is back and settled and I've returned from my trip, I'll have some time to start posting again.
Just thought I'd drop a note to anyone who might be interested, I haven't silently "flounced." Just having to set some life--and writing--priorities for now.

I knew you were working on the book so I figured you'll be by when you could.
Proofreading, ha!, delicious, isn't it? Again and again and again. Hope all goes well with the book!
