This is the second and final day of posting on Dublin. Similar to yesterday, I have a variety of photos taken around the city from my visit in October, 1986. Tomorrow I move on to another location in Ireland.
Above: the public relations office entrance of Ireland Limited.
Above and below: early evening views along the River Liffey.
Above: the Guinness brewery. During all of my stops at pubs in Ireland, this was the my ale of choice.
Above: a door of Dublin in need of an extreme makeover.
Above: a train similar to the one I traveled on across Ireland.
Below are screen grabs from the 1994 BBC produced Great Railway Journeys. This episode featured Michael Palin traveling to different points in both Northern Ireland and Ireland in search of genealogical information on his great grandmother. I have shots from the program that feature Dublin plus his trip away from the city on a steam locomotive.
For those readers who have been following the series, below is a shot I took of The Palace of Holyroodhouse from Edinburgh that will be posted on the last Edinburgh post. The slide was mixed in with my Ireland photos. This is the official residence of Queen Elizabeth when she is in Scotland. I toured the castle, but didn't take any pics of the inside. If you travel to Edinburgh this is a must see.
