Back in November, 2008 I had three posts of New Wave music of the '80s that I presented. With all of the hair nostalgia of the '80s going on today I am again presenting the songs from post number one that were not deleted from YouTube since November, 2008.
Here's the original story behind my music playlist:
I've put together a group of music videos from around 1983-85 when a lot of great music was being creating in the UK. I used to listen to these songs on a college station broadcasting from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT: WXCI. One of the station's programs was called "The Friday Night Dance Party." For your enjoyment I have tracked down songs that were played on that program back in that time period.
Howard Jones, "What is Love?" (released November 26, 1983)
Frankie Goes to Hollywood, "Welcome to the Pleasuredome"
Pet Shop Boys, "West End Girls"
Go West, "We Close Our Eyes"
Wide Boy Awake, "Billy Hyena"
Belouis Some, "Some People"
Blancmange, "Don't Tell Me"
Modern English, "I Melt with You"
Thompson Twins, "Doctor Dream"
Murray Head, "One Night in Bangkok"
Thomas Dolby, "Wind Power"
Art of Noise, "Close to the Edit"
Psychedelic Furs, "Ghost in You"
Vitamin Z, "Burning Flame"
Note: this is from part three of the 2008 posts:
This collaboration has some great moments in it, primarily in the first 2/3 of the piece:
Howard Jones, Herbie Hancock, Thomas Dolby, and Stevie Wonder,
"Synthesizer Medley 1985"

@Bikepsychobabble ~ thanks very much for the link! Another great song that I used to hear on the local college station back in the '80s, too! How fantastic that you saw the Thompson Twins in concert--what a great event to have attended!
