As I was leaving last Friday's OS meet-up at Old Town Bar I happened to notice two very attractive women sitting mid-way along the bar. They looked at me as I walked by and I was reminded in a second of all the great summers from the past when so many are upbeat on a Friday night with Saturday and Sunday under the sun just around the corner.
Union Square was bathed in the glow of the setting sun and, again, my thoughts wandered to the many summer evenings when the heat of the day is subsiding and couples are walking the city's sidewalks hand in hand.
We're now into early August with some summer weeks still ahead of us before Labor Day comes along and I wanted to present a favorite summertime song from the early '70s that I still hear played a lot when I am in a store or other public place that plays background music. Seals & Crofts' Summer Breeze is the song and this is my version which is simply piano and percussion.
So, enjoy this month of August and make the most of whatever pleasant weather comes your way!
