Bio
Once upon a time this writer was a reporter/photographer and columnist for a large weekly newspaper in New York City, worked at the Center for Publishing at N.Y.U., worked at Kirkus for one whirlwind semester and eventually was an editor at Scholastic. After two very eventful years on cable television in New York City, this writer was voted off the island. Today this writer is a student and soon-to-be published author (all fingers and toes are crossed) living in reduced circumstances. She is ever hopeful and even though her stomach may rumble from time to time, she is usually somewhat reasonably well fed. Most importantly this writer is a recovering or former New Yorker, (recovering seems more apt), who is quite happily transplanted elsewhere. She blooms where she is planted. ************************ You can contact me at diaryofahopefulstarvingstudent@ gmail.com

Who I Am

Rate: 4 Flag

Dylan and Paulo join Hope in the kitchen. At home with Hope. Having some cocoa before Hope rests. For a while.

The three sit around a table. In a nook in a cozy corner of the kitchen. Hope is tired from a very full day. But happy and serene.

Dylan looks closely at Hope's face. Checking for visible signs of stress. And finding none. Paulo smiles at the his cup of cocoa and thinks of Joy.

At home in Italy now. So far away. And no longer speaking to Hope. Totally disconnected for now. A giant rift between the lifelong friends. Named Matthew. Joy's brother.

And the man Hope knows she loves. But is not ready for. Now.

In time all things will turn.

Hope stirs her cocoa once. Twice. Three times. And smiles.

Holding onto to hope that she will hear from Matthew soon.

Not knowing that her father has had an IT expert at the house weeks ago. To block all their contact and forward all of Matthew's messages to him.

With no response from Hope. Matthew is more heartbroken now. Than ever.

And Hope holds on to her love for Matthew.

Knowing one day she will see him again.

And hoping against hope that by then, he may love her still.
